Grooming me ALL THE TIME

Indy have prooven himself a pro at liter box training, sure some spair poo’s are around it, but he’s not pooping anywhere in my room or peeing. I had mentioned before he was escaping from his cage and getting out, so I just made sure every chord was covered and let him stay out all the time and just leave the door open in his cage. He comes and goes as he pleases to potty and eat/drink then back he goes. It’s been a week now since I’ve let him do this and well…at first I thought him getting on my bed and licking me was cute, now its just a bit too much. He licks my face and hands constantly, then if I don’t pet him back I get a nibble. Like, “HELLO GROOM ME BACK OK???” He’s woken me up everyday now doing this, then I have to give him pets back. Don’t get me wrong, I think its adorable and I’m flattered he likes me so much…but I really need my sleep. He will rest his head on my pillow while I do this, and if I stop, then I get nibbled again. I’ve been hiding my head in my sweatshirt hood and putting my hands under my pillow….that worked for about 2 minutes, then he started digging on my head to get my hood off so he could lick me some more…then digging in my pillow to get to my hands. It’s kind of…extreme? I’m not talking about 4-5 licks either, I’m getting a full out bath all over my forehead and nose. I guess I should be happy it doesn’t feel like a cat tongue. Basically, I wanted to know if anyones had a rabbit being so obsessed with grooming them, and will he grow out of it? He’s only what…err 4 months old? Thanks

He looooves you lol. Now you just have to wait until he’s 6 months before you can neuter him. Sorry, it’s goin to be a long 2 months. Especially when he decides to ‘love’ your arms, legs, ankles etc hehehe. I was at my wits end before I had Charlie neutered.

Nooo you can get him neutered at 4 mos.  It is safe.       OH boy persistant fellow isn’t he.

I can’t let Cotton out at nite he dug in my hair every 2 hours.  I had to put it under the pillow.   My hair is long. Then he would dig at the pillow trying to get my hair out so he can dig in it.   Then he and Laith decided to pee on the pillows.  I think they even got my hair.    eeeeew.

So hope nitey nite is in the cages.

Nooo my lil baby is growing up ( LOL bunnytowne….I have a great image of cotton doing this to you. It is really funny when you think about it, but I’m so frustrated and lazy like…ugh I don’t wanna get out of bed and im just laying there complaining to him to leave me alone then I hide in my hood, dig dig dig on my head, lol so funny but so annoying.

That is rather cute! I think perhaps you’ll need to sort his cage so he can’t escape and shut him in again. It’ll give you some sleep but also give peace of mind he can’t get out when you’re not home! Does he have a plushie? Maybe give him a PlumBun scented plushie to groom. It’ll help things along when you come to bonding them.

Maybe he thinks I’m a bunny…as soon as I throw my clothes onto the bed and change he is right there giving them a sniff down. Either I’m very interesting or weird. I must be an ugly looking rabbit to him! Maybe I do need a PlumBun decoy…

yessirree, you are his and he has to show you all the time he wuvs you, and you wuv him back right?right? No teenage hormones kicking in here, nope, he just wuvs you.

The best one to decide what age to neuter him is your vet. Have her look him over and make an appointment for whenever she thinks he’ll be ready. Then close him up for the night and get some shuteye.

aawwww, bunny’s in love……When we got our first bunny I would let her on the bed with me, but I dozed off one night and woke up to Pringles grooming me and trying to give my bangs a ‘hare cut’ she thought looked better, so no more of that! Maybe you could wear an old shirt til it’s really dirty and he’d be content in his cage at night with that to cuddle and groom?

Good luck in the coming month, we’ve had members who have had their fuzzy slippers violated by loving rabbits. I had to give my Toby a much abused stuffed rabbit to make do with until his neuter. And boy, did he. Little energizer bunny, that one!

Yes I have to sleep with my hood on!!One day I will wake up and have no hair! Omg I pet his head this morning for at least an hour and he fell asleep next to me. I groom him so he will stop grooming me lol!!!
