Grid cubes bunny condo

Hey!
So I finally managed to order grid cubes (they are not available in my country). I will get 12 of them (each grid about 35×35 cm). Meanwhile, I want to figure out how to assemble it. The main problem is the floor. Toffee didn’t yet mastered her litter training skills so I need something that can be easily cleaned and comfortable for her at the same time. I also don’t want it to be too expensive since the grid cubes will be expensive as well. Was thinking about the bathroom floor mats, what do you think? I will be glad for any advice and ideas regarding the housing!

Hi!! I’m so excited for you and your bunny!
We have a grid enclosure as well, and for Paisley I have used foam interlocking mats as flooring. I also put a fleece blanket or two on it and tie it to the corners so that it won’t move, and can absorb any accidents she has (which is rare now, thankfully) or any water spills and such. To protect our carpet I’ve just put plastic sheeting underneath the foam mats, but made sure Paisley could never get at it and it’s not visible.
When Paisley had her (accidental) litter, the babies would pee everywhere so I put some old towels underneath the fleece and that helped keep it from reaching the mats. These mats aren’t too expensive, and can usually be found at places like Walmart or Home Depot for about $15. Or, you could find some used ones and just wipe them off well, which is what I did I find that this is nice and easy on their feet, which helps to prevent sore hocks.

I second the puzzle foam mats! Just make sure Toffee doesn’t chew or ingest it and it should be alright.

Make sure to get the ones that are not spongy on the surface so you can just wipe any accidents up. The ones I get only have the foam texture on the underside.

I have a two-level condo-style grid cube cage for Panda and Fernando. The upper level is light wood covered in carpet – if you build a multi-level cage, I strongly suggest getting a wooden dowel of the appropriate length, depending on how large the cage is, to keep it supported – and the lower level has a solid plastic floor with a rough, nubby texture that’s easy on the rabbits’ feet and also easy to clean. The two levels are connected by a carpeted ramp. I have two doors set into the cage, one on the front for bunny entrance and exit and the other on the side which I mainly use for food and water supply.
