Hey, I think we had a discussion about this a while ago, but I finally found some of those "Green Bags" that help keep fruits and veggies fresh at BB & B.  I don’t know what results others have had, but I tried them and they work GREAT on bananas! I was very pleasantly surprised.  Something that actually worked as advertised, I am amazed.

Yep! Sorry I got lazy, it is Bed, Bath & Beyond. I’ve seen them on TV but scored a box in the store.

I use them all the time, they come in 3 sizes in Aussie land and they keeps the vegies fresher for longer.

So are these the ones that have tiny holes/slits in them to allow the exchange of air with the outside, but keep the moisture in?  I think I have seen these in the supermarket, but never tried them.  With 3 rabbits of my own and 4 fosters, I end up going to the green grocer 3 times a week anyway.  Stuff doesn’t last long enough to spoil.

I use those too and I think they really do help. I always let my veggies air dry first and then stuff them in these bags and they do keep the greens fresh all week.

it works with bananas?  i find mine works well but only if i keep it moist.  if i dry the greens then they’re all wilted the next day.  wierd that drying works for others.  maybe its climate related.  what kind of green bag?  was it like this:

I would say Sarita’s and Scarlet’s are much the same, they are are also the same as I use.

are they for human or bunny food?

ahhh… i see what you mean.  i wonder what’s diff about those bags than the big-sized perforated ziplock baggies.  i’ll have to find some & try them out.

KiimberlyandDarren, they are for veggies and fruits for both humans and bunnies. Babybunsmum, these are different because they slow the aging process of the veggie or over-ripening of them. They claim to absrob & remove damaging gases.” The gas being ethylene gas that fruits, veggies & flower emit during the ripening process which accelerates ripening/aging. I don’t know all the science behind it, but they really work from what I’ve experienced.
