Kind of tempted to buy one to try…wonder if it would hook to an x-pen too.

oh, neat. I would buy it. There is always a way to attach these things, even with some wire if you have to. Or contact them and ask.

It says they have predrilled holes to just hook them on – I will have to ask if they come with the hooks or if that’s something that I would have to purchase.

that’s easy then. you can get little hooks in the hardware store individually.

I looked at it a bit more and I’m thinking the hooks do come with it. So tempted :~) I’ll think on it this next week and see how I feel about it.

oh, yes, I see the hook too in the jumbo image! It is such a great thing. I want one too, but I got the BB hay basket and it’s great, no need for another rack.

Which basket is that? I’ve had those baskets in the past that you can attach to pens and stuff but most of my rabbits just mutilated them. I totally love that idea though.

the little light-colored oval one. Mine have not destroyed it yet but they will ~ I like the idea of the edible hay rack though. It’s my new theme: the edible habitat (j/k)

oh, wouldn’t that be just the thing: a rabbit chalet made to look like a gingerbread house! I wonder if you could get willow shingles?

You may be onto something Petzy! Does this fall under a sustainable home? You can live in and eat it too. Or in the rabbits case, chew it to pieces.

‘you can have your house and eat it too’ you mean? That’s a great pitch! LOL

You are on to something Petzy – you have the pitch and the idea – now go out there and make some money on it LOL.

Is there something to keep them from jumping into the top and being on the hay? Cotton did that with the wire bin I got and I had to re-attach it so the open side of the bin was against the pen. Otherwise it made a nice and comfy snack and potty place.
I like the idea that they also have wood to chew that is OK for them. I have noticed with my bunnies the best way to renew interest in any chew toy is to attach it to the pen- they will demolish it then. It is though it becomes a personal insult and challenge once the object is fixed in place and maybe not where they want it.

My concern…. it’s wood and in my house would get chewed on immedietly LOL I think i’d need a box of extra slats :p
I think if it was metal and wouldn’t get destroyed I may pay the money for one.
They sure are very appealing to the eye, not ugly like the one I made once LOL

Have you seen the ones in bunnybale.com ? They have a metal one that is much the same concept as Sarita’s find only with one opening instead of several. I’ve got it and Dustor is at it all the time, pulling hay out. It’s quite large too. Mine is low to the ground and there isn’t room for me to lay flat in Dustor’s pen or I’d take a picture of it. My maintenance man found a bracket in his shop and attached the hayfeeder to my x-pen. Those you can get at the hardware store.

I like them but my first thought also was that those slats looked mighty tasty.

Have your house and eat it too….

Didn’t one of the little pigs make his house out of straw? He didn’t eat it, the wolf did. Of course, it was a drag queen wolf who liked older women…I digress.
