got sad news from the vet today

Well to me it is sad.   Brought me down. 

Cotton hasn’t been breathing out his left nostril     I can’t afford at CT scan to see what is going on in there.  This has made me so sad.  We are continueing the baytril adding pennicillin 1x a week for 3 weeks.  If no change then we go to another antibiotic from a specialty store.  i have heard of this specialty store and special antibiotic b4.

I am now to put drops in his nose and still in his eye too.  His nose is still runny and his eye weepy too. I am so sad.  

Maybe I should have chosen the antibiotic from the specialty store.  The vet got a swab from Cottons nose.  Had the usual bacteria and lots of bacteria.

I hope he doesnt’ have any hay in his nose or anything.   The vet thinks this is chronic pasturella.  Cotton needs all the prayers he can get. Poor fellow.  I hate this.  

When he gets sick with something it is a long time b4 he gets over it.  Unfortunately.

My vet said it’s very rare for rabbits to get food up their noses, so I don’t think yours would have hay up his nose. Poor baby though, I hope the new medicine helps!

I’m so sorry to see this BT. Poor Cotton Boo and you have dealt with so much already. We all just want him to be well.

I am sending prayers your way. I know it can be very upseting when you dont know what your rabbit has. My rabbit kamdyn was sick for 6 months before I found out what was wrong. Now looking back a year and half later my life is better. I have finally got kamdyn into a routine. He was diagnosed with a cancerous tumour on his spine. So he lives his life as a disabled rabbit and is living happy and healthy. Me and my buns will keep praying for you and cotton.

Oh, BT, I am so sorry he is having another prolonged illness. I am sure it wasn’t hay. If her diagnosis is correct than at least there is a treatment protocol to follow that should work eventually. Please hang in there.
