Pitstop is sick, and I’m trying hard to stay positive but things don’t look great am I am worried.

I’m force feeding him as per the Vets instructions, he’s not even fighting me   So I’m hoping if some others put in a good thought or two it will help him start feeling better, I’m not ready to say goodbye to him yet and  know in the past some good thoughts helped Bo.

Keep positive Andi. They can rally out of the blue but you probably know this.

              Thanks
I’ve hardly slept, but this morning there are poops, lots of poop but it’s so mushy unformed and has a lot of mucous in it. I offered him some parsley and celery leaves he ate those and a piece of lettuce. I gave him more critical care as well, he looks a bit better but is still lethargic, though even when he’s feeling crappy he teeth purrs when I pet him.
I so don’t want to go to work, but Ryan will be home to watch him and I’ll come home and lunch to see how he’s doing. *fingers crosses*

I’m going to move this topic to the “House Rabbit Q&A” subforum. The “Support” section is to memorialize bunnies who have passed over the bridge.

You have my good thoughts and healing vibes for Pitstop.  Hugs, Andi!  Keep us posted.

So many THANK YOUS to you all.
I am seriously so happy and relived to say Pitters is 90% back to his old self.

He’d never been so sick, and We’ve had a bad case of Stasis with him a year or so back. The only thing still a bit off are his poops, just unformed, though I am seeing improvements each day.
I really think in most cases like this force feeding and keeping the bunny hydrated are SO important. I know without these he would not have made it.

One thing that I have questions about is the urine leaking. It was one of the first signs (along with no poops) that something was wrong and now that he is feeling better it has stopped. An ideas on what causes this leaking? pain, just not feeling good?

We’ve concluded this episode with Pitters is most likely a mixture of stress, poor diet with his pasturella. The reason I say poor diet is he is SPOILED and get’s a lot of carrots and crasins from us, and well over Xmas from every visitor we had as well. Stress could be anything but I think shedding and the visitors for holidays and such played a part.
I am so happy to have him feeling better and acting like his goofy self, today he’s been in front of the fridge begging… no more carrots though, just leafy greens for this little guy!

Glad he’s better! The only thing I can think of for urine leaking is a bladder infection or sludge or stones. Maybe too he just felt to ill to make it to the litter box.
