Good Mats for Bunny

Hey there, new here obviously, been lurking a lot since I decided to get a bunny a few weeks ago, learned a lot! So thanks for that everybody who may have posted something that I read, haha. All the floors are hardwood in my house so I was looking to get my bun a decent sized mat so he can at least have some spots where he doesn’t have to worry about sliding, maybe he could run more comfortably. I just don’t know which ones would be good that won’t make him terribly sick (or worse) if he chews. I’ve looked a lot at seagrass mats but I can’t seem to find any that aren’t pretty small, as they all seem to be mostly for laying.

So I come to the experts here for help! I’m reading a lot about bunnies but am still new. I live in Canada and will gladly shop online, so any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for making my first post a request, I don’t know if that’s frowned upon, I just want to try to find something quick.

Wick’s favorite mat in my hardwood-floor home is the chef’s comfort mat that’s positioned in front of the stove, haha. It stays cool and has a slight spring to it. The material is dirt resistant, so also easy to clean. It wasn’t bought for him, he just happens to like laying there a lot.

Generally if your rabbit isn’t a carpet destroyer, any rug with some grip at the bottom will work as a nice place for your rabbit to chill. Some people use the foam puzzle pieces you see laying around children’s play areas as well.

If you are looking for something your bun can chew, there are different types and sizes available. The Binky Bunny store has a good selection and she ships to Canada.

If you want a softer type mat for lounging, good quality memory foam bath mats are great. Especially for bunny’s who are prone to sore hocks. However, anything like this needs to be monitored carefully at first to make sure bunny is not chewing and ingesting any material.
