i just caught baby bun & the dog BOTH nosing thru a pile of bb’s & eating them.  grrrrrrosssssss!   bogart is clearly a bad influence on the bunnies

the truth is i want alllll the bb’s for my composter as this year i am ‘going green’ and am determined to get a decent garden going in my backyard finally.  i’ll need lots of good composted organic matter to turn into the soil since it’s so rich in clay back there.  leave the poops for me!

Oh well, they’re only pellets and hay all mushed together Pellets in, pellets out Hahha, I don’t even care about picking them up with my hands.
Granted…eating poops is a bit gross, but dogs eating their own poop grosses me out more than bunnies eating poop.

It is funny how desensitized you get to the poops after a while.  When we do our big adoption shows, one of my jobs is pen maintenance.  As you might imagine, 18-20 bunnies lined up side by side results in a lot of terrritorial marking.  Sometimes I don’t even bother with a dust pan, I just pick them up and throw them in the litter box.  I get some strange looks sometimes.

I agree! I would always rather shovel my horses stall than clean the cat’s litterbox or worse, the backyard doggie piles. The bunnies are just like having a herd of little ponies in the house and I love waking up to the smell of hay.

Our dogs eat every single poo possible from Cotton- they sit and wait and actually compete for them.  Yuck!  They also eat parrot poop- as soon as they hear Kirby’s poop “splat” on the plastic mat  underneath the cage- they are booking over to gobble it up first.  Our last 2 dogs were older- and the did not eat the parrot poop- but we got our current 2 as puppies so they think is is gourmet stuff!

I don’t even yell at the dogs for eating the bunny poo- as I have seen them doing it outside- and I don’t think they will ever willingly stop.  What is really gross is Skye often eats it so fast- that she will cough- and cough a single rabbit bebe and then eat it again.  Ewww!

Please, not only does Rocky the dog eat Shadow’s poo, he follows the bun around and pokes his but trying to make more come out! After Shadow’s neuter, the amount of territorial poo was so curtailed, the dog was following him and crying!

lol… crying… thats funny.  bogart nudges bunny butt looking for treats too.

a friend of mine has a parrot & their dogs happily eat parrot droppings.  it’s so true… it depends on the poop source whether its foul or not.  dogs eating their own poo… stay away from me please!  no hershey kisses for this girl!  bleh.
