Sooooo I got this epic cage for FREE from a friend and I’ve had it for weeks. I haven’t set it up for bun because I heard the ramps would be too steep. Idk, this cage is just too awesome not to try haha will let y’all know how it turns out! Might have to reduce the slope of the ramps, or make new ones altogether, we’ll see. If it doesn’t work out, I can just set up his old cage <3 See cat for scale.

Ooh that’s so nice!!! Handy how it has the storage at the bottom. Do you know what used to live in there?

Here goes the trial run haha. And a ferret lived in this cage for several years I think he was 9 or 10 when he passed which is a respectable age for a ferret  Hopefully the kale will lure him around to the levels.

Haha hopefully bun isn’t freaked out by the ferret smell! Gorgeous multicoloured rug by the way! Where’s it from?

Haha true enough Are you in the United States? That rug just came from wal mart for like $10. I wash it once a month or so and it’s a braided rug so he loves to tear apart/fray the braids which seems to help satisfy the urge to dig lolol I’ve seen them at goodwill/thrift stores too if you like them

Looks cool I would remove the ramps, they’ll only cause more trouble than they’re worth. He shouldn’t have any trouble hopping up and down those steps without them. The area he may have trouble with is going down through the whole in that middle level, hopping straight down is not particularly easy for a bun.

Thanks Azerane! I’ll take those ramps down (They just take up surface area IMO so no need if they aren’t necessary) and might try to position one around the hole and see if it helps Thanks for the suggestions!

If he ends up not using the levels, I’m slightly tempted to just take out the levels, flip it on its back and let him run it longways

When my bunny had a level in his old cage, it took him quite a while to use the ramp to get up and down. It wasnt quite as steep. Hopefully he figures it out, its a nice size cage [:

Not to worry about having 2 litterboxes in such a small space (and 2 water bowls and 2 food bowls !!! )

They are very quick learners (especially where food is involved) …. see which litterbox he uses most and move the 2nd one closer to it bit by bit and then you should be able to remove it without him noticing… so only having one… and he’ll have more room to do dramatic flops !!

How is the new home going? Is it working out? Curious over here as I would love a similar set up
