        Hi everyone.

This morning when I woke up – Stanley was sitting in a spot he doesn’t usually sit in (could be over thinking it).

I offered him his favorite oat hay and he just kinda looked at me. So immediately I panic. I got his veggies ready and did this thing where he launched at them but didn’t eat them. So I then gave him timothy hay, organic meadow hay, orchard grass and oat hay (all the hay I have). He started eating them which made me feel better. Then I gave him some Simethecone. I did hear some loud gas noises which makes me really nervous.

When I was leaving for work (he made me late but that’s okay because I love him) he was going for his veggies.

My question is – are those loud noises REALLY bad? Or could he be okay as long as we continue to offer hay all day to keep his gut moving. I am so nervous at work today.

I should also mention that he does not eat pellets anymore. And did get a LARGE amount of veggies last night. Could it be moving through him?

Sounds like he might have had a bout of gas, and you reacted well.

If he’s still acting a bit odd but still snacking, continue with the simethicone (no risk of giving too much) and try to get him to move and play/run because it helps eliminate the gas. If he’ll let you, you can also elevate his hindquarters a bit to help the gas bubbles exit

Panic only if he stops eating altogether. Well, no, don’t panic, but consider a vet visit for pain and motility meds (assuming you don’t have any at home).

            Keep us updated.
