        So through the House Rabbit Society I met a wonderful rescue here in California and they do boarding and bonding and all those neat things! I called them up to see if I could leave TigerLily there while I go to my best friends wedding next week in Las Vegas. And they said they could get TigerLily spayed at the rabbit vet while i am gone, they had a rescue rate which was very good and my husband and I have decided t do it, knowing that she will be in the best care while we are gone and hopefully with all the wedding activities I can rest my mind a bit because If i were not occupied with something I would be a nervous wreck. So here we go! I am praying that God be with the vet when TigerLily goes in for surgery as i do not know what I would do without my little bunny girl

        How were your Spay experiences?

          Layla was spayed about 2 months ago. She was a little quiet afterwards for about a week but has recoved completely (except her hair hasn’t grown back yet!)
          We had her spayed immediately after getting her from a shelter so I don’t have any ideas about personality differences sorry but you’ll be fine

            oh good! that’s very convenient for you! altho i’m sure you’ll still be worried… :o) don’t worry, it’s normal…

            females are groggy for the first 24 hours, sometimes up to 48 hours. you probably won’t be missing much at all. does the rescue have someone there 24 hours a day that is watching the animals? that would be something to ask and get clarification on… they see females thru the process all the time, so i am sure she will be in good hands. she might still be out of it when you get her home, and not quite herself for maybe up to a week…

              Well I am dropping her off at the Vets office and after the surgery the Owner of the Bunny Rescue who is my new sitter will be picking her up and taking her home with her, I feel very confident leaving TigerLily in her care and she has been very, very honest with me about what to expect.

              She has personally spayed about 60 bunnies at this Vets clinic and not lost any, so I felt comfortable with those numbers. I also figure it is best if I do it while I am away because if I am up all night watching her any little thing she does I will be afraid is a sign of something bad, but yes I am still nervous But i have faith that God will be there with my little baby and with the doctors and the bunny rescue folks so I know in my heart all will be well, God willing.

              She will be at the rescue for 3 days until I get back from the wedding, so hopefully she will be happy to see me when I come back to her

                WOW that’s great!!

                My spay experience was excellent. Kahlua was a little mad at me (she had one ear up and one down-that means she’s angry LOL) for a couple of days. I did force feeding for her as I wanted to ensure she was getting enough nutrients, but it went very well. Perfect healing no infection and no chewing/licking of the stitches.

                I’m sure she’ll do very well {{VIBES}}

                    Bunny foo foo as in ”little bunny foo foo hopping through the forest picking up the field mice and bobbing them on the head”?

                    That really cracked me up.  IDK but I think she look’s more like a bunny foo foo in that bottom picture than a Tigerlily  She’ll be fine, it sounds like everything is well planned out.  Good Luck!
