  Our bunny Stu is now getting desexed on Wednesday next week, as he has just hit puberty and has decided that he owns EVERYTHING in our house… I was quite worried about the cost of the procedure but our vet says the standard for desexing a rabbit here in Australia is only $70 Australian Dollars ($56 American)… So now he is all booked in…
  
  I have to pick him up at 5, a few hours after the operation…
  
  I was just wondering if you had any suggestions of how we care for him that night? Is it ok for him to sleep on our laps like normal, what should we expect etc.

  Sleep on your laps?! *Melts* That’s so awesome. Beware, he may be a bit standoffish toward you though. $70 is a good price! I paid $180 in SA to have my doe spayed (but this is a more complex op). Is you vet experienced with rabbit neuters and spays?

  lol, yes. every night we sit down to watch a movie on the big screen, stu hops up on to our laps and falls asleep watching it with us. lol . if we are late to sit down, he tries to lure us in to the lounge. lol. thanks for the link i will check it out now …

  Yes! I’m on opposite side of town to you though, in north eastern suburbs. So nice to see someone more local to me on binkybunny!

  I think I found the site through a google search! Its fantastic, and the information here is priceless! I love your rabbits jersey girl, they are beautiful!
  
  So the Vet informed me this morning that Stu is actually a girl… Do you know anyone in Adelaide that is experienced with desexing rabbits? Apparently a man called Mark Hill is very good, but I thought I’d check with you guys on here first. Now that Stu is a girl, my vet wont do it .

  3rd time I’ve typed this!! I mentioned in your other thread, I’m happy to ask my vet for some recommendations. I see one at Para Hills and know there are some exp ones at Adelaide Animal Hospital (Magill) Pretty much Exotics vets (like Dr Hill) have exp with rabbits.
