I can’t believe we’re doing this but we kept going back and forth and finally decided to get another one. Ok well we’re fostering but I’m betting it’ll turn into an adoption, she’s adorable just from the pics! http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi?petid=13516725
So she was born Feb. 13th of this year. She’s still on oxbow alfalfa based pellets and is slowly being introduced veggies. When should she start eating timothy based pellets?
Congrats!!! You can start switching her over at about 6 or 7 months. Do it slowly…
Here’s the Petfinder link: http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/displaypet.cgi
and her pic:

Why did you pick her over the other link you posted before? I thought the other bunny seemed friendlier from her description… not that that will matter once they reach maturity… then it’s anyone’s guess how they’ll turn out…
When do you get her?!!? I’m so excited for you!
*coughFOSTERFAILUREcough*
It was such a hard decision between the two. They are both adorable! But we’re just fostering her right now and see how she is. If we really like her then we’ll probably end up adopting her. But if it seems like she’s agressive or something then later on we’ll ask about Olivia if she’s still there. I guess I’m just a sucker for harlequins ![]()
I really wanted to adopt both, but that would be too much. I kept going back and forth, I’m still not even sure.
We’re going to pick her up on Friday. Geez, what is it with us and holidays…Archie was the X-mas bunny, Gracie was the Valentine’s day bunny, and Parsnip is the Easter/Anniversary bunny
They also said that Gracie liked to be held..she tolerates it but doesn’t like it that much. Probably because she associated it with getting meds when we first got her.

LOL! ![]()
Even if it doesn’t work out for you to keep her, it’s great that you can foster! I wish I could foster… ![]()
Is this really so your husband can keep building condos?! lol
Well done for helping out and fostering. Can’t wait to hear more about her. ![]()
Yeah, we don’t have much room but I’ll make it tomorrow! I’m friends with her on facebook and I always see her status about always being busy with animals and she still has to plan her wedding! She has 8 bunnies that are in her house; also some rats, hamsters and I think a few cats (or they might be fostered). I thought I could help her a bit and she was thrilled! I’m kind of glad we have a small house because I’d be too afraid I’d foster more
Should I keep her in the same room as the others or in a different room? She won’t be spayed until July I think. So I probably wouldn’t bond them until afterwards, correct?

No, I just saw this mysterious message on my computer and just had to go get another one. Here’s what it said: “morebunniesmorebunniesmorebunniesmorebunniesmorebunniesmorebunniesmorebunniesmorebunniesmorebunniesmorebunnies
morebunniesmorebunniesmorebunniesmorebunniesmorebunniesmorebunniesmorebunniesmorebunniesmorebunniesmorebunnies”

Hmmmm…. it’s hard to decipher… but I think… Yes, I am sure that says:
more bunnies!
more bunnies!
more bunnies!
more bunnies!
more bunnies!
more bunnies!
more bunnies!
more bunnies!
more bunnies!
hehe! So skibunny, you are planning to keep her? I wouldn’t try bond her with the others unless you are absolutely keeping her. You don’t won’t to split bonded bunnies down the track. If it were me…*roll eyes* I would keep her in a different room. Her presence in the house could cause some behaviour from your other 2 or even challenge their recent bond. So best they keep their distance for now.

Thanks Jersey, I was thinking that we’d probably keep her in the other room for now until we know if we’re going to adopt a third one. Well I haven’t met her yet so it’s still up in the air if we’ll keep her indefinately. We thought it would be better to foster a third right now then to go right out and adopt. If we do end up adopting, I might wait until she’s spayed because doesn’t her scent change? And don’t want to bond them and then take her in for surgery and ruin their bond. Ah, I better get in the living room, somebunny keeps trying to eat the recliner! And I want a third one?? I must be crazy haha!
If you become a foster failure…join the club!! Raymond was a foster failure of mine
I did successfully adopt out one foster, but it was because she was so undeniably the perfect free range house bunny that I wanted to make sure she had a home of her own. Apparently in her new house she gets to sleep on the bed and I would say that getting a bunny a good home is a really great feeling – if you can ever bear to separate with a foster.
WOhooooo!!!
That’s so exciting!! More Pictures!!
Hmm..looks like petsmart doesn’t have Oxbow Alfalfa pellets. I’ll have to look at the other pet store and see if I can find it there. Any other good alfalfa brand pellets out there?
Are your other rabbits on Oxbow timmy pellets? You can use those and if you can get fresh alfalfa hay give her a handful of that.
What a babe!!

Yes they’re eating the timothy pellets. I’ll try to get out tomorrow or Wednesday and see if there isn’t any in the other pet store and if not, then I’ll get the alfalfa hay at the store and try that. Thanks! ![]()
Went over to my parents house today and got Archie’s first cage/Mickey’s final cage
I still miss Mickey a lot. Also have several water bottles and a few bowls. So I’m pretty stocked up on bunny supplies ![]()
I found some alfalfa pellets, not oxbow but they’ll do. Found them at Tractor Supply and also bought 3..or was it 4 big bags of litter
I have one more question (for now). Do I let parsnip run around in the living room where they normally run around? Or would she smell them and start spraying different places. As far as I know she’s not litter trained yet so I’ll work on that before I let her in the living room if she can go in there. It’s been awhile since I’ve litter trained and even that wasn’t really the best litter training with Mickey. He would dig at my pants when he wanted to go back in the basement to go to the bathroom. So this is kind of new to me.
I think my bunnies know something is up. I kept going in and out of the spare room and they were periscoping by me and really wanted attention. I usually leave the door closed but since she’ll be in there, I’ll make a makeshift gate out of NIC cubes.
It’s hard to say what you should do right now. My thought would be to have them entirely separate, no shared spaces, so your pair may not even realize there is another bun in the house. I’m concerned that their new bond might break.
I agree with Beka, bunnies are very good at spotting another bunnies scent, and it can upset your current bunnies, and also could cause Parsnip to start marking all over the place. If you really can’t find any way to let her run around anywhere else, I would recommend putting a sheet or thick blanket down so she isn’t right on the floor.
Yes def. don’t want to be cleaning up pee all over the place!
I’ll just leave her in the spare bedroom then. They’ve rarely been in that room. But I need to vaccum anyways. I know when I brought Mickey’s old stuff home and had his brush Archie lunged at it
That explains when he tried to attack the Pedi Paw because I had used it on Mickey a few days before.
I double ditto with Beka and MooBunnay. A new, especially non-spayed female, can even cause tiffs between your own bunnies.
I also recommend that you make sure to wash your hands after petting her as her scent on you can cause marking and tiff issues.

Good idea! And I’m actually going to leave a zip up hoodie to put on so that they don’t smell her on my clothes. Gosh this is harder than I thought but worth it. ![]()
