GET AWAY FROM ME!!!

we have had a bunny for a year. she has been a tempramental rabbit, but never really been a biter. we got a second female bun to be her friend, and things started off ok. we live in a 1 bedroom apartment, so neutral space is hard to come by. they mostly stick to 1 area rug. it started out ok with the investigating. the constant thumping from the new bunny. but then they started investigating eachothers cages… like they would just sit in eachothers cages… for 10 min or longer. it was weird. i came to the conclusion that they where peeing in each others cages. then when we would lock them up, they would throw a fit. throwing bedding everywhere.
ok, fine. new bedding, and dont let them do that anymore.

after a wile the mounting began. the new bunny started mounting the one that had been there for a year. and she alowed it. butt in the air and everything. but only for a specific amount of time. then she would start running and fighting back.

its been a week since the humping stopped. the new bunny seems to want to play. just goes up and sniffs the older bun, but the older bun has become violent. any time new bun gets near her, she shorts, and chases her. almost always pulling out tufts of fur. one time even pulling out skin. the wound has since healed, but it was a good cm of skin just torn off.

it may be that we have a 10 lb box of hey. i cut a hole in it so that can eat freely. but the food seems to be a point of contention. 1 min they will alow the other to eat, then the next, its a chargeing chase to GET AWAY FROM MY FOOD.
i dont know what to do. old bun nips and chases new bun when ever she gets close. and new bun seems to want to be friends.

but then at the same time new bun is friends to us one min, and then next will start digging and nipping at us.
i have been disaplining with a squirt gun, but it does not seem to be doing much on ld bun. i spray her, and she gives no fs. new bun flinches when ever the gun comes out.
i want them to bond. i dont want to get rid of them. but every day is more problems. ….. i dont know what to do… its been about a month…. wtf do i do???

I’m guessing here, but are the buns spayed or intact? Intact bunnies tend to fight a lot, not just bucks, but also does. If you want them to live together in harmony, you should have them spayed. Unspayed does are very territorial and they can cause considerable damage by biting and clawing each other.

they are both intact. i figured it was going to be hard. but at this point, i have a squirt gun, and i sit on my couch. watch tv, and shoot them every time one chase the other wile shorting.
since fixing bunnies is probably expensive… can i get away with fixing the trouble maker?
now i dont know if this trouble maker… ok, midna and fish. midna is the first bunny. fish is the new bunny. (we went to the pet store to get a fish, and rescued a bunny instead, so we named it fish)
fish has been the one mounting and biting wile mounting. i have even seen her latch on with her teeth, and then when midna tries to run away, fish has a hold on her side and runs with her.
now i think midna is just fed up. so every time fish goes near her, even just sniffing, she lashes out. fish may be intending to mount, but midna wont even give her the chance to circle her. she just chases her, and when i look back, midna has a tuft of fur in her mouth.
