        Hi

This evening Bella is showing symptoms of gas. Hes eating a but less hay, but still eating pellets and treats, smaller poops and she wont sit still, she keeps getting up moving, laying down for a min then getting up moving again and so on.

Im thinking it seems like she has gas and im wondering if simthecone gas drops are suitable to give while she is on loxicom?

        Thanks!

Yes, you can give simethicone to a bun thats on loxicom. I agree this sounds like gas.

            Thanks!

I have been giving simethicone and tummy massage.

She is doing okay and continuing to eat bits and poop very small droppings now and again. She is already on 0.32 of loxicom.

I’m am starting to lean towards a vet trip of she doesn’t pick up soon but I am wondering if actually she even needs the vets.

Given she is not grinding and is still eating here and there and popping little bits, combined with already being on loxicom and belly massage (which makes her purr) is this something that we can try and continue to treat at home? I wonder if shes already eating and on pain meds is there really anything different a vet can do for her at this stage…?

If we did decide to stick it out at home a bit at what point would we take her to the vets i.e. When she stops eating/pooping/starts grinding, or would we go just after a certain time frame such as still gassy by the afternoon.

I have helped bunnies through gas before but not one in this mediocre stage that bella is in, Glenn has always either gone straight into statis and too the vets or had one ml of smithecone and picked back up like nothing happened.

            Thanks!

Update – she took a turn and went from eating and pooping to completely refusing food and going hot amd cold so we’ve rushed her to the vets.

Fingers crossed shes okay, i cant work out what could of caused this onset of severe gas :/ her diet is pretty tip top but she isn’t in the best of general health though i. E severe arthritis.
