A little background before I tell my story. When we first got our boys, and didn’t know anything about separating and bonding and all that fun stuff, Bombur would mount Asriel at least 5-6 times a night. Like literally starting when he turned 8 weeks until we separated them at 11 weeks. Sometimes Asriel would run, but usually he’d just take it (I think this heavily contributed to his skittishness).

Last night Asriel was out for his run, and I was super tired so I set my alarm for 10 minutes for a quick nap. Asriel doesn’t do anything naughty so I can usually leave him unsupervised. Well, Bombur figured out how to push the door of his cage open when it isn’t latched right. I woke up to the sounds of a bun tripping over the litter box and see not one, but both bunnies hanging out in the litter box. But Asriel isn’t hanging out he’s mounting, and I mean seriously in the middle of trying to show Bombur who was boss. There was no fighting thankfully. I was so on edge trying to herd Bombur back into his cage, meanwhile Asriel is chasing us trying to continually mount Bombur. My husband and I this morning laughed a little as we said it was Asriel getting payback for all the times Bombur wouldn’t leave him alone. The look in Asriel’s eyes seemed pretty vengeful too ?

Both buns are fine and no fights broke out and Bombur was successfully herded back. Asriel did pull a little fur though, which surprises me cause Bombur never did. But anywho! It was terrifying at the time, but now it’s just a little funny.

LOL that is funny. “You think you’re the top bun? Well I’ll show you just who I think is boss!” Silly rabbits! I’m glad nothing became of it!

Haha! Reminds me of when I came downstairs to see Buttercup casually hop out of Peanut’s hutch. They’d worked as a team to split the barrier.

She was having a great time, eating his hay, sitting in his litter box, hopping about. All Peanut tried to do was mount her lol. Thankfully she’d been spayed as he was only two weeks post op!

Buttercup is a typical girl for sure! Forget the men, wears the food and the relaxation lol!

Asriel has never humped Bombur ever, so I don’t know if I was more intrigued by it or horrified. Bombur for sure didn’t know what to make of it. I think he really just wanted his playmate back.
