› Forum › DIET & CARE › from Abcess to Disaster!!!
Hi everyone! Lola, yet again has another abcess tooth and about a week and a half ago, my vet pulled two teeth out and let the abcess drain. Then I took her back last thursday and her lump on her face (the abcess gunk) had grown. He looked at it and performed another surgery from the outside of her mouth to drain the gunk. Now she has some stickes and sutures on the side of her mouth but the area that he drained is growing even bigger. I know that her face will swell but it has been like four days already. He didnt give me any antibiotic ointment to treat and I even asked him but he said it was ok. I see another vet where I work every day and I spoke to her today and she told me to bring in Lola right away tomorrow morning. I dont know what to tell my vet about it. I think he is putting her through too many surgeries and she is stressing too much. She acts very playful and normal but It is just so much bigger. When I try to touch it, it doesnt hurt her but it feels like if someone stuffed and HUGE prune on the side of your mouth and then tried to squeeze it.
My theory is that when he drained the upper jaw, he left the wounds of the teeth taken out and the food she has been eating is building up in the empty places in her mouth. Now that the upper part is emptied from the abcess, the food has infected the fluids stuck in there but I hope it is not so bad.
Is there anyone who can give me some advice as to what to tell the vet tomorrow or let me know if there is a certain type of ointment to buy for application on the wound. Is there any time of extra precautions I should take? I am also worried that Cinnabon, my other bun, is infecting the wound by licking it but it is not discolored or smell bad so I dont think that is a problem.
HELP! She needs some extra extra bun luv.
Oh my goodness! Poor Lola! I have never gone through anything like this before so I can’t offer any other advice except get to another vet asap! How rabbit-savvy is this vet? Do you trust this vet? This sounds like a situation where a second opinion is desperately needed.
Is Lola not on any antibiotics? I would think that would be a basic thing to prescribe….or even metacam for pain? I’m no vet but I would certainly be questioning what this vet was doing.
Perhaps there is someone in the El Paso area who can help you find a great rabbit vet. Dental issues can be very serious for a rabbit.
Kisses to Lola – hang in there!
I know, my poor baby! Well, this is most rabbit savvy vet I could find, I have already been through three and unfortunately my first vet is no longer seeing exotics and my second vet said that their sniffles was because of dust!!!
I am hopeing that the vet I saw at work sees exotics, i.e. rabbits, because she sounded like she knew what she was doing. My current vet does, however know the common sideffects of different things in rabbits and he works on a lot of rabbits so I am no one to tell him how to do his job but there are just a few things he is kinda du dutu on. He was giving my buns baytril for everything like thier URI’s and her surgery but Cinnabon still has his URI and just thursday, I told the vet they needed different antibiotics because this Baytril is obviously not working. I told him about Ciprofloxacin and he gave me a prescription but it is hard and expensive to fill, nonetheless, I have to fill it tomorrow morning.
Otherwise, I have not found a very rabbit savvy vet in el paso, He is by far the only one I have heard of. There is only one thing I didnt like him doing. During this current surgery to extract the teeth, he took out the bone cement antibiotic balls placed in her mouth by my first vet about two years ago. He said he had never seen them before and he thought they shouldnt be there. I researched them and told him exactly what they were and I will tell him tomorrow that I want him to put some in the first surgery from two years ago and now, in the newer surgeries because they obviously worked very well. I had no prob with Lola and that old abscess ever since. If anyone knows the name of those antibiotic balls that would help me a lot for my meeting tomorrow with the vet.
Rucy has had three jaw surgeries (one before I got her) and two surgeries since 2002, and is now on antibiotics to treat a reoccurance. So I understand what you are going through. I would say that that vet may have worked on rabbits, but the fact that he doesn’t know about the “antibiotic beads” placed in the jaw before they sew up, didn’t offer antibiotics (though you said “ointment”, but I wouldn’t recommend ointment either, just injections or orally) would make me wonder too. My vet ALWAYS gives me antibiotics after her surgery. I wouldn’t feel guilty about heading to another vet, you just tell him you wanted to get a second opinion. Docs understand that.
I think that next time you look for another vet (if the new one doesn’t work out.) Call the vet you trusted – the one that put the beads in, say you are looking for an experienced vet that can also deal well with dental issues in rabbits, and get a list of “screening questions” focused on the whole jaw thing on top of the regular screening questions.
One thing that my vet found out was that the root of one of her teeth was infected so even though they pulled the tooth out, part of the root was left behind causing a reoccuring infection. My vet paired up with another very vet that specialized in dental issues and they worked together in the surgery.
Good for you for you for looking further into this as jaw abscess can be very aggressive and hard to treat, so if anything, hopefully the other vet will be open and egoless, and want you to update him on what ended up working.
Keep us updated!
(((((((((lola))))))))) no advice – just sending lots of healing vibes too poor lola. hang in there sweetie!
Looking at all that my current vet is doing, I would much rather take the first vet I had but she no longer sees exotics. I will call first thing in the morning tho because maybe she can make an exception but she was a little rude and did another surgery without permission. I feel she had more knowledge of what to do but really took advantage of her clients financially.
This abscess will be recurring but I have found a lot of information to show my vet tomorrow and I will tell him I want those beads put into her newer abscess area. They worked last time and I know they will work again. If he doesnt do anything, I will hopefully be able to take her to Dr. Harvey, the one that put the balls in and see if she could just drain the abscess again and put those balls in again. This is so upsetting.
Thanks for all the help though, I really appreciate it. Even though I am still in the dim light about all the problems with buns, you all help me a great deal.
Dr Harvey is my vet. Do you fly back and forth from TX to CA or does Dr. Harvey?
It’s too bad that your other vet was rude and may have been taking advantage financially. Maybe though either Dr. Harvey or the original vet can refer you to someone they trust in your area.
Oh, thats funny! I looked from the rabbit house society website and they only have two vets in El paso listed so I will try the one closest to me tomorrow. One is like thirty minutes away and the other is about an hour or more away.
Unfortunately, I really liked my current vet because he was very open to my research about stuff for the buns.
I agree try another vet poor little bun
poor Lola! i hope you can get this figured out.
(((((((((((((((feel better sweetie!))))))))))))))))
Pool Lola (((VIBES)))
Keep us posted!! I’m sad to hear about her trouble!!
Ok, well I took her in this morning to her current vet and gave him information about the ball things. He went ahead and drained the area again and took out the lining wall because of the little holes the abscess created. It turns out, it had eaten a little bit of her bone and he filled it with antibiotic. I called all the vets in this area and Dr. Harvey is still seeing rabbits however, she is completely booked today and tomorrow. I consider this an emergency now. My poor bun!
Anyways, so I was referred to another clinic and the doctor over there told me that she does not recommend putting in those antibiotic balls and she can do them but wont because of this. I dont know why but that is what she said. So I called back Dr. Harvey and she reffered me, yet again, to the emergency clinic and told me to see a specific person. I think I am going to do this today because I am so worried for Lola. Her breathing has not come to normal after the anasthesia and she looks like she is in immense pain, I would be. She doesnt want to move and she tries to lick her paws but has to stop herself. The antibiotics prescribed will be ready later on tonight. Should I trust the vet who doesnt belive the antibiotic balls are the best solution?
If I take her to that vet, they can see her right away. If I go to the emergency clinic, I need to go at 5:30 because they dont open until 5:30pm, in about seven hours. Im afraid to have her eat because this morning, our vet said there is a passage way from the abcess area to her mouth.
HELP!
ok, now I am really freaking out. The rabbit savvy vet at the emercency hospital is not in until thursday and they wont call him in. I am trying to get Dr. Harvey to see her today but they are not being flexible (this is what i kinda didnt like with them before). When she breathes, which is normal now, it sounds like there is water stuck in her nostrils. Like if there was water stuck up our nose but it was too thick to blow out or swallow. I dont know if I should be afraid.
Oh Lygray!! *VIBES*
i wish i had some advice for you lygray. the best i can say is to keep bun and you as stress-free & comfy as possible and to keep pressing for some one to see her. (((((((((vibes to you & bun)))))))))
Good **healing vibes** for Lola and good ***finding great vet vibes*** for the both of you. I am surprised the vet did not prescribe antiobiotics and did not place any encapsulated antibiotics in the jaw either. I am so sorry to hear about all this. Maybe your vet would be willing to do a phone consult with a rabbit savvier one regarding these issues?
Ok, well, I spoke to Dr. Harvey and she told me to go deal with the problem and she said that since my father left her practice last year she doesnt care if Lola dies tonight. How rude is that!
So, my best vet rescourse really could care less about the creatures she sees. There is only one vet that I would be able to trust other than my current vet and he only works in the emergency vet hospital on thursdays and sundays. The other three on the east side will absolutely not use the antibiotic beads and my current vet is not in lieu of the seriousness of this abscess and will do his best to insert the bicillin beads. It will be his first time tho and I dont want it to be on Lola. I have no earthly idea what to do but just hope that Dr. Harvey is willing to teach my current vet how to so this surgery. That was the least she offered.
She looks pretty bad but her will to be happy is strong!!!
that’s really sad. what an awful way for you to be treated. i’m sorry you’re having to go thru this.
For heaven sakes, that’s horrendous of her to say that to you – or anyone! That is some serious bad karma she has just put forth and if I were her I would worry about the day it returns to her…..UGH!
I hope you are able to find some quality help for Lola. I wish you lived here in Ontario, we have fantastic rabbit-savvy vets that specialize in dental issues. Kisses to Lola….
Really, well, I wish I lived there too. I dont know if it is possible but is there any way you can ask you vet to call me or perhaps my vet to help us out.
Im worried about her eyes now because the area that the abscess was removed was under her eye and my vet took out the infected skin. Now, tho, there is a pocket, of course he put antibiotic into it but there is some blood stuck around there in her nose and it is also draining through her tear ducts. Dr. Lenox, her vet, says this is normal because all of those different things are in the same area. Now I also have to worry about her eyes and the skin around them to get scal or burn. Like when humans cry too much how the part around the eyes are raw. I know there is something for that tho but I just cant find it online.
I feel really alone in this because I dont have any other resource but Dr. Lenox and members are getting me scared about him.
She has not defecated or urinated for about 12 or more hours
First and most importantly – What does your bunny’s gums look like? What color? Are you able to take her temperature? When was the last time she ate?
Then next – I know we absolutely CANNOT be discussing the same Dr. Harvey. She doesn’t live in TX. She lives and practices here in the California Bay Area, she does not have her own practice to have someone come and go from, and I could never imagine her speaking to someone like that. She would never say, I don’t care if your bunny dies. That just isn’t her, it’s not even close to being part of her nature. So, ironically, there MUST be another vet by the same last name. When I looked up el paso vets and Harvey, I did find a vet another female vet with the same last name. But I have to reiterate to other members – The Dr. C. Harvey in the CA Bay Area is NOT the same as the Dr. Harvey in El Paso that I think Gray is talking about - The Dr. Harvey here in Northern California donates so much of her time to help HRS and other groups - she is a kind hearted professional in every sense of the word - expert, kind, strong, yet very gentle nature. Just wanted to make sure to clear that up!
ok, her gums are pink and she ate about two hours ago, although very little, I force fed her baby food and left out some timothy pellets and gave her a mountain of greens. She seemed very excited and ran to the greens, ate some but not like usual. I did give her ciprofloxacin about two and a half hours ago.
I just noticed she defecated and urinated. I massaged her abdomen and then placed her in the litter box. I did the old fashioned trick where you trickle water in front of a person. I just did this near her ear and she wanted me to stop but i kept doing it and then I noticed she peed. I also noticed she now has new pooplets but not many.
aww, poor baby – how scary! it is good that she is pooping, and hopefully will be eating more on her own soon. it’s important to keep up with the assist feeding, even if it’s in smaller amounts – since keeping her tummy moving. sending lots and lots of healing wishes her way.
I can’t believe the Texas Dr Harvey said that to you – that is totally unprofessional. Thanks for clearing up that it’s not the same Dr Harvey from CA, since she is one of the most compassionate vets I’ve ever met and i couldn’t imagine her saying that to anyone/
Good to note that her gums are pink! it sounds like it just hurts too much for her to eat. She’s hungry, but just can’t follow through. I’ve deallt with that that with Rucy. She would run to her greens and then be sadly disappointed when she couldn’t actually eat. Were you given “Critical Care and a syringe to help feed if necessary? Sorry if you already answered that somewhere.
Good news that she is at least poopleting and peeing. She probably hasn’t eaten as much so that is why. IF you are able to assist feed with a Critical Care that might help. If you haven’t been given that, you can wet down regular pellets until they become sort of a soupy mush and syringe feed her. (er…do you have a syringe?) Some bunnies with tooth issues will lap it up, while others, like my Rucy, sometimes will need assistance when things are painful.
Lygray, if you’d like, here is the number to Campus Estates veterinary clinic in Guelph, ON, Canada….519.837.1212. They are just up the street from the Ontario College of Veterinarians. Here is their website…
http://www.petsandvets.ca/aboutus.html
All four vets at Campus are extremely well-versed in rabbit care and Dr. Allison Daub is the one to speak to about dental surgeries – she should be back from her maternity leave right about now, but any of the other vets can give you equally sound advice. They often work with other vets over the phone so I don’t see why you shouldn’t give them a call to get some advice.
They have state of the art equipment and are constantly upgrading their skills. I volunteer for a rabbit rescue and any one of our rabbits who need dental work go there.
I hope they are able to help and give you some peace of mind. Kisses to sweet Lola.
this is breaking my heart for you and Lola. how is she this morning?
thanks for clearing that up BB about the docs. i could not believe it was the same person. i’ve heard such awesome things about CA Harvey… i know we’re not supposed to be bad-mouthing doctors… so i’m going to stop right now.
Well, I do have a syringe, I actually have several but I was not given critical care. I will try the pellet thing, I tried it last time she had jaw surgery and It gave me a hard time but Lets do it again.
She looks depressed this morning and I dont see any new pooplets or urine so I know she hasnt really eaten all night. I gave her fresh hay and sat her in front of it last night and she ate like three twig things but at least she is trying. This morning, after giving her a plate of food, I notice she is eating apples only, ever since yesterday so her mouth is probably hurting. She got her antibiotics and jumps around a little but only to run away from Cinnabon. I have a pain med that Dr. Lenox gave me but I will give it to her in a few hours.
She is pooping and peeing again. I guess since she eats so little, she only does it right after she eats or something. The pellets are thick and wont dissolve so it is soupy enough to get into the syringe. I have an idea of where to go so I can get a bigger pet syringe so I will head there. I have to study today for a final and I have to work so I wish i could but I cant stay with her all day and feed her like every three or four hours. I am thinking of buying a malt for hairballs and maybe incorporating that into the pellets. I will also try to find an apple flavor food to incorporate also so she likes it. Or maybe I will just use applejuice (fresh from our juice maker). Well, until later, I think this is all I can do. I will leave instructions for my father so that when he gets home, he can feed her and make sure Cinnabon is not chasing her.
Cinnabon goes after her and she runs away, should I keep them seperate until my father gets home?
I have been keeping up on this thread, Gray, even though I have very little to offer other than moral support. In terms of feeding, have you tried pumpkin in addition to the pellet mush? We give organic, unsweetened, canned pumpkin to some of our very ill bunnies in my rescue. Be sure *not* to get pumpkin pie filling, this is loaded with sugar and can make her really sick.
ok, sounds like an item I need to add to my list for today. We only have pie filling so that wont help. Can I mix this with pellet mush or just give to her by itself?
You can mix or feed it alone, however she wants it. You are basically just trying to get any sort of calories into her at this point, so what ever she will take you should use. Another trick you can try is to take succulent greens or aromatic herbs and shred them into very thin strips with a kitchen shears or a knife. See if she will pick up the greens with her lips and swallow them without having to chew much. If she likes strong flavors, something like mint or oregano or basil is good for this, as the smell may get her interested.
ok, sounds good.
Don’t do this unless the other members agree, but I’ve heard that you can take cecotropes from one bunny and feed them to another…Do you have to bunnies? You could try to get some from the other bunny and then offer them to her? But wait and see what the others say
***VIBES***
That sounds very twisted but I understand why. I will wait until someone says yay or nay on that one. That does sound like a good idea.
I just got home. She is playful, eating a lot (according to my father), and using the lovely restroom. I got her mint and before she liked it but today she kinda snuffed her nose at it. I like to see that she is now looking for attention from Cinnabon instead of staying away from him. She looks good.
I have a question about the stuff that has happened to her. She had two teeth extracted a week or so ago and on thursday, the abscess pus was drained through the skin under her eye. Her skin swelled a lot and I took her in again. On monday, Dr. Lenox went in and took out more pus, a little thicker than cheese-like. He put in an antibiotic again and her face is not swelling as much or at all this time. This time, however, he removed some of the tissue containing the fingerlike abscess infections. I need to take her in tomorrow but I want to know if she needs to go into another surgery or if I can just keep her on antibiotics. I want to try the process I found in an article where you inject the Bicillin for like three months or more instead of the beads. According to this process, Dr. Lenox only needs to completely remove the abscess, which he has done, and then we continue with medicine.
If he wants to drain the area again and reinject with antibiotic, does he really have to or should I tell him not to? She just got better and I know this is a greuling process but I dont want her to have more pain than she should and I definately dont want her to have too much pain because that causes problems too.
She is taking Ciprofloxacin twice daily and a pain med. I found a link to where to get the penicillin G something, aka Bicillin. What should I tell Dr. Lenox tomorrow.
He is fixed now on doing the beads thing but I dont want Lola to be the first patient he performs this on and If this other way works just as well, i dont mind working a little harder. I want to tell him that either he or I will get the bicillin med and he can show me how to inject it properly. Training in other words… What do you all think?
Regards to feeding another bunny’s cecals – What KK is talking about is controversial. Some vets use that method, while other vets say it’s a dangerous practice because there is no way to really know how healthy and how balanced the bacteria is from one rabbit to the next. And as I know all too well, one rabbit create toxic bacteria in their cecals but you wouldn’t know it until it was consumed and caused major problems.
Regarding continued abcess treatment options: I wish I could give you specific medical advice, but because some abscesses can be slow, while others can grow very fast and become extremely aggressive and branch out to attach to muscle and bone, I don’t feel comfortable telling you to wait on surgery especially if your doctor is noticing the “finger like” abscess. Those are the kind that attach to muscle and bone and can really do damage. I am not a vet and I think this is a decision you and your vet will have to make together. I am glad to hear he is open, and so I am figuring you are bringing him some information like: http://search.atomz.com/search/?sp-a=00062824-sp00000000&sp-q=bicillin&user=enter+email+address)
I am partial to the beads because it kept Rucy abscess free for two years, and I didn’t have to stress her out with giving meds every single day.
I had also done the med route and it also kept it at bay for a time, but I also had to continue to give her either injections or oral meds for months, and that was stressful too on her, So in reality, there are options, but you and your vet have to decide what is best for your situation.
I’m sorry I couldn’t give you a solid answer about what is the best route to take. I wouldn’t be able to decide that for you.
Sending healing vibes! Keep us updated!
YOu can also feed her babyfood – applesauce, berry mixture, banana, carrots – anything with just water and the main ingredient, no preservatives. Mix it with the mushed up pellets or feed on its own. Any exotic vet should have critical care in theor office for you to buy and they should also be able to give you a bigger feeding syringe to make the job easier. Also, for hay, try giving her the bits that sit at the bottom of the bag, the smaller, almost dusty bits. Might be easier for her to eat.
Stay away from any drugs that end in “cillin” – dangerous for rabbits. The only acceptable one is penecillin in injectible form only, not oral. And I have always been told that pain mends (Metacam) should never be given on an empty stomach as it can upset their tummies, so wait until you know she has eaten something, then give her pain meds.
Kisses. Poor Lola.
Ok, great. So there is nothing i should feel guilty about so far. I have been giving her baby food and i got pumkin yesterday. She is doing better. She got another penicillin shot this morning.
I just wanted to clear this up about the cillin part. Bicillin is actually penicillin G something. Its not an actual drug other than penicillin.
The vet said she looks better and gave me a handful of shots for her. He showed me how to administer but on Friday’s appointment, I will have him do it and I will record it or something just to help me out and allow me to grasp the full concept without messing up. I had to anminister a shot a few months ago so, I am not so nervous to give these shots.
Thanks for the tip about the pain meds. I never actually ran into any articles or anything that specifically said to wait until the bun ate to administer them. That is good to know. Dr. Lenox didnt do any surgery today but on Friday he will again flush the area with saline and drain it again. He is also going to see if there is any pus trying to drain into the mouth from where the teeth were pulled. He said since he already took out the infected tissue (with the fingers in it) the hard part is over and we just have to do the post surgery stuff. She is happy tho and she is running around more so at least she feels better.
i am so happy to hear she’s starting to feel better!!! you’re doing a great job!
Awesome!!
Well, she is doing better. she is now flopping to the ground to lie down. She is scared of me though…she thinks im taking her to the vet again. she looks better but friday. Dr. Lenox is going into her face one more time to wash it out with saline and then at last, close it up for good. I will have to administer shots tho but its for a good reason.
She is such a positive bunny so she is healing all by herself…Im just the waterboy!!! hehe
How is Sweet Lola doing? I hope everything went well at the vet`s yeaterday…..I’ve been thinking about her.
She has been much better. The vet said she looked so good he didnt need to go in again. He removed the sutures on her face so her skin in healing. Her eyes are very teary and she has discharge around them but Dr. Lenox said that was because he worked so closely to her nasal cavity and tear duct that while the wound heals, that will happen. It was natural. No I just have to give her the shots every other day. Tomorrow will be the first time i do it without my vet in sight. My family was over today and she was running around like crazy.

Oh wonderful!!!
There is only one thing I am curious about… her stiched area on her face has some little white and orange-ish spots. They feel kinda like scabs. Should I worry that they are infections or no? Does this look normal? You cant really see it but those orange spots on the pink skin part is what I am talking about.
I just can’t see where you are talking about. The area looks healthy pink, and doesn’t look bright red or infected. So without really being able to see what you are talking about, my best guess is there is just some scabbing – are they right around the incision,or are they part of the sutures? And the white, just white coloration or pus? I would ring your vet and ask about them, he’ll probably just say scabbing, but it wouldn’t hurt to just be sure.
Oh Sweet Lola! I’m so glad! I hope her ordeal is coming to an end, poor baby.
Ditto to what BB said, I think the marks might just be scabs forming, but call the vet to make sure….
Kisses to Lola!
oh i’m so glad things are looking up for sweet lola! it’s so hard to know about those healing spots whether or not they’re ok… i’d also recommend double checking with your vet to ease your mind.
Yeah, I called him today and he said that they are just scabbing. there is a liquid I can buy at a pet store, and I have seen it, specific for rabbits and wounds. It helps keep it clean. He said I is in a blue bottle. I might just get that just in case. Otherwise, she looks ok and he said it is just scabbing. Its not like a pus, its like a hard layer on the skin…exactly like a scab. I just was not sure. Thanks.
(((((((((((Lola!!!)))))))))))
and *hugs* to you! i’m so glad she’s doing better. i was very nervous for you.
feel better quickly Lola!
oh good…. glad it’s just scabbing. i kinda thought that based on your description but would hate to have said so & been wrong. especially since its a problem i haven’t ever dealt with first-hand. interesting about the bottle of stuff to help keep rabbit wounds clean. if you find some would you mind posting the name of it? ((((((more healing vibes for bun bun))))))
http://www.bunnyrabbit.com/price/medicate.htm
this is a great website for health products and treatment of these products for different cases. Check it out.
The wound stuff is on this web page…its called Peters Rabbit Wound Aid.
Lola is doing much better, her face is not swollen or puffy or squishy. she does well with the shots but does squirm afterwards. Now Cinnabon is not eating to well, he is acting weird.
Yay for Lola! I’m glad she is doing better!
But now Cinnabon is not himself? Geez, if it’s not one thing, it’s another. How is he pooping?
Oye! Good News for Lola, and be sure to keep us updated with Cinnabon. Since this is going to be a long Holiday weekend, if he is still acting strange, I would call a vet. Even if it’s not an emergency on Saturday but he’s still not himself, I would recommend a visit on Saturday, otherwise, it will be much harder Sunday and during the Memorial Day.
ok, he is eating just not as much as normal. his poops are looking perfect, not to wet and very hayish. he is just not eating the hard treats, aka the veggie smaks, as he normally does so i am hopeing it is not something with his teeth. from the outside, his teeth and jaw feel fine, not weird bumps or long feeling teeth.
Lola is still doing well.
Put your ear to his stomach – can you hear soft gurgling? Is he able to eat his pellets, greens and hay normally? Do you notice his eyes being a bit runny or is his chin or around his mouth damp at all?
Poor little Lola, a bit late but a big *****BunnyHug***** for her.
Any updates? Hope his appetite is back to normal.
Update… Sorry, i didnt have internet for a little while… Cinnabon is getting better… He eats a lot now. I think maybe he was just a little depressed because Lola was depressed for a little. He is a happy bun and Lola is doing well. She HATES her shots but there has been no swelling or newly found bumps so I think she is progressing very well.
YAY! That’s good news! Yes, sometimes rabbits can stress when they know their mate isn’t well – glad to hear everyone is back on track. Thanks for the update!
