It went so well! The guy was super nice, and frizzer got a clean bill of health. I’m very confident because I just let him speak before I asked any questions and he really knew his stuff. He also put a lot of emphasis on the fact that I shouldn’t withhold food/water before surgery. They’re giving me metacam to take home after the surgery as well as givin ghim some as he comes out.

He told me that for the anisthetic to put him to sleep, they basically fill up a box with fumes and put him to sleep that way, no injections, and that he will come out on his own. I love love that he won’t be getting any injections while he’s awake. They also gave me the option of blood work but said that because he’s young I shouldn’t need to worry and the blood work itself could stress the poor guy out a ton.

I’m very happy! They will give me a call when he’s all set, they don’t keep them for long, especially as it’s not a spay.

He’s got an appointment for the 31st. I can’t wait!

That sounds great! It’s very reassuring when they offer up the right answers without having to be prodded along! Keep us posted on how he does!

and im really happy about it too guys! i opted for the cheaper vet (i have a vet recommended by the hrs 15 minutes away – they’re $250 for the neuter, this guy’s $111) and really thought it was going to bite me in the butt, but things seem great!

This is why it’s so important to do your research, and at least you can get a second opinion in your area if the need arises or in case of an emergency! We’ve had members who had a regular local vet, but chose to drive an hour or so out of their way to see (an equally competent) vet who was literally half the price. I don’t think anyone would fault you for choosing the cheaper rabbit-savvy vet, especially these days when we have to watch every penny!
