My friend has a 2 lb pedegree lionhead who is too small to breed. She is same age as Ruby 7 mos real soon..

I was thinking of getting HB a friend.  Tho it will be 1 extra to feed and clean up after. Til she will be litterbox trained. Still more cleaning. But she is adorable and loves being held and petted.  Thats what got me she will sit for hours in your lap.

I don’t know if she and HB will get along.  Hubby and I are really thinking this one thru. And talking about it.  He said I have so much work with the 3 we have and thats true. But how much work can a 2 lb bunny be.  Then I think to myself 4 are a lot of buns. No matter how small.  I dont’ know that a vet will spay a bun that small.  2 lbs only.  I beleive I had read on this forum that someone had a little 2 lb bun and the vet thought it was too small for the surgery. In that case if she starts marking and spraying it could be a problem for me cause of more cleaning.

Even if I don’t get the bun it will go to a good home I am sure.  So thats not the issue of me saving the bun or anything like that. I dont’ know if HB wants a friend. His bio at the humane society said he was used to kids cats n dogs.

Maybe I could try to bond the 3 together. It would take time cause they both attack HB. But it can be done.

I just dont’ know.  What do you think…. I like the fact she is 2 lbs pedigreed and likes to be held for hours.

I know if I am not in my right mind you will tell me. Thats why I am throwing this in here.

Honey Bun is a large bunny isn’t he? That would be my main concern. Putting a 2lb with a large breed. At the end of the day, it’ll be you and your husbands decision of course.

I’m not sure if size normally plays a role, but Kahlua is less then two pounds and Rupert is almost seven.

Bt my concern would be you getting in over your head again. It’s hard for you with all the cleaning and I know you’ve had to rehome before. You have a heart of gold but I don’t think you need another rabbit. My suggestion would be to wait, its not an emergency to get a friend for her, see how you continue with all three-who knows maybe you’ll stumble accross another one that needs a home and then make the decision.

my suggestion would be to give the trio a try first in December or January after Ruby’s spay. if after a month or two of trying that it does not seem like it will work, you can always rescue a bunny for HB (hopefully one that is already altered!)

NO there is no hurry.  I can try the 3 together and work it out between them. Hopefully it will go ok.   I will start in December/Jan on the 3.

I definitely don’t want to get in over my head again. Four buns are 4 buns.  And a big job thats true. Hubby feels the same way. He knows it is a lot of cleaning as it is.  Their litter sticks to them and gets all over. I vacuum a lot. I really don’t NEED another bun.  We pretty much are agreeing on that.  3 are plenty of work for me. And plenty to love too.

Yeah thats true I really don’t need to get in to all this right now. There are plenty of buns out there. Always will be. The little girl bun has a good home right now and I know kayla will see to it she gets a good home. Somewhere.

When I clean by myself it is a big job. Hubby helped me a lot yesterday. We cleaned the a/c filters and the hepa filter,  floors, cabinets, put up a curtain.. We were busy.  Oh and all 5 litterboxes too. Yeah thats enuf.

Cotton got out of the living room and went to visit HB. He can fit thru the bars of the baby gate. I found him behind my bathroom door little rascal. Then I noticed HB pulled out some of Cotton’s gray hair.  Oh dear. Cotton must have gotten in and starting biting and boxing HB.  Then HB got upset and let him have it.

That alone tells me it may take some time to bond them. Cotton is used to his smell now tho.  Cotton will pee on the rug by the bedroom door due to HB. Little Brat.  Well I will just have to work on them come Dec/Jan. At least I think it is Cotton.

They are both huddled together in their box. Cuties.

HB is a neutered boy so Cotton isn’t too happy about him.   Then again I never thought Cotton would get along with another bun and he and Ruby are friends now.

I have to be careful cause both Ruby and HB are pulling his hair at times. hheheeh. poor Cotton
