And I mean FRESH!! As in cut this morning. Is this ok for bunny? I know some things have to be dried out first to be safe so I didn’t want to give Trixie the fresh green stuff until I knew it was safe. Thoughts?

I would think that would be perfectly fine. You might just start by trying a small amount. Wild rabbits each fresh grass as their diet and horses graze on fresh grass too.

I can’t really tell what that is Beka. It’s pretty though. I really cannot imagine truthfully though that alfalfa could grow from pellets. It’s possible birds dropped some seeds there though and now something is growing.

Beka, I will take a picture of what I have and you can compare if you’d like.

I gave trixie a few pieces of the fresh stuff this morning and oh my goodness. She was honking like a new york cab driver!!! I think that mean she likes it!

…honking is a happy sound right?

Do you think you could use the sprouts to grow freash alfalfa or am I way out in left field?

K&K, I really think that if you want to grow alfalfa you can plant the pellets. From what I understand of the pellet making process and my farming knowledge (snicker) alfalfa seeds would be embedded in the pellet and since they’re not cooked, just dried and pressed, the seed would sprout on its own if cared for properly.

Or I can run down to IFA and buy you a pack of seeds

You do think it would grow from the pellets? That is very interesting!

I think so. I can’t think of a reason they wouldn’t. Unless the seeds are somehow removed before the pressing process which would be a HUGE inconvenience so I seriously doubt that it’s done. Worth a shot.
