        H guys,

Partner woke up this morning and when he went downstairs he found quite a few tufts of hair around – both Peanut’s and Buttercup’s. Not a huge amount, I mean less than a full handful between the pair of them. I’ve checked them both over and there’s no injuries or anything, and nothing else seems out of place (I. E. If it wasn’t for the fur, I never would have thought anything was wrong) Anyway I’ve pet them both over and their fur around their bums is very loose/tufty. Probably where they’ve pulled ar each other’s back end? I dunno. Anyway, I’ll be keeping a close eye on them but just wondering if there is anything I should look out for? I don’t know whether it happened this morning or during the night but they were both acting normal when we came downstairs so I assume they’ve sorted whatever it was they had a disagreement about!

Mega moult time….. I had the same this lunchtime. A whole heap of Zou’s fur had appeared… on touching her it’s just falling away. her hula hoop skirt is neverending.

Henry had his hulahula-skirt moult a few weeks ago at bunnycamp – now it’s his face which is going…

So do you think it’s moulting then rather than a fur pulling incident? That would make sense as both are suddenly very tufty whereas yesterday they were just shedding a normal amount. I mean, I can pluck Peanut like a chicken! I even found a tuft belonging to Buttercup stuck to a table leg she likes to chew on

I thought maybe the tufts were what they’d loosened on each other by pulling on each other or something but surely the loose tufts would all fall out at once rather than appearing over the course of the day. Three tufty bits have appeared on Peanut’s back in the last 10 minutes lol

Yep, sounds like moulting My Blue will pluck my Bombur’s moulting fur tufts sometimes during groom sessions. Buns can also pluck their own loose tufts

Hah! I hope you are ready When my buns moult, it is like the living room got snowed in. I can make several new bunnies out of all of the fur they shed and lose around the room

Ha! Bizarrely, after the initial plucking I was able to do yesterday morning, no more fur has come out?

Well they don’t appear to be moulting (at least not today?!) so I’ll assume the worse that they had a bit of a falling out but at least it didn’t escalate further with no intervention and they made up all on their own. They seemed happy as Larry when we came downstairs and they’ve been normal since

“happy as Larry?” I’m not familiar with that turn of phrase

Glad to hear they seem to be getting along fine. A note about molting, Thor sometimes decides to molt in patches, where one area will be SUPER tufty one day, then she stops losing hair for a week or more before starting again. It could still be that they are shedding, just a little weird

Haha, yes. I don’t know who Larry is, but he’s just plain happy, so it’s good to be as happy as him

“Happy as Larry” is a common phrase here in England  I don’t know the origins of it or if a Larry came up with it?!

I’ll see what happens over the next week or so in regards to moulting. It’s bloody warm here, poor buns! We’ve got tiles on the floor for them to lay on and frozen water bottles but of course they’re not interested
