Okay, so I know we had a discussion a while back about the safety of scented candles https://binkybunny.com/FORUM/tabid/54/forumid/2/postid/77849/view/topic/Default.aspx

Anyway, I contacted Dana Krempels about this, http://www.allexperts.com/user.cgi?m=6&catID=703&qID=4748595 and she recommended a company called http://www.aromanaturals.com.    The higher end candles that are supposed to be better/healthier  are definitely more expensive, but wow…the scents are great and they last much longer.

I’m curious to get your feedback about would you buy higher end candles like this if you knew they would be safer for your bunnies?

I am thinking about selling these in the store.

Mmm…they must smelly yummy! I missed the original thread but if Dana says they’re ok…….well then! he he! Some of the oils would actually act as a deterrent for mosquitoes and other nasties so that’s a bonus. (Lavender, Rosemary-Peppermint-Thyme that I know of)

Interesting…I’m afraid of candles at all because of people leaving them unattended and burning down the house! I guess that’s the insurance agent in me although we’ve never had one of our clients do this that I know of but it did happen when I worked at a hotel and one of the catering managers accidentally left a candle unattended in her office – well you can imagine what happened.

I have a Berger Lamp that I use on occasion because I love fragrance too – I have a bird too so I’m not entirely sure this is really best for him but I have so much lamp berger oil that I need to use up and I don’t put it right by his cage either. It’s downstairs too and I only have Pepe downstairs free roaming.

I love candles! I also have burners for essential oils.

I have been trying to tell which scents my buns like best – but, I can’t tell. I have noticed on the rare occasion that I have burned something fruity – they run around looking for the fruit!

If I used candles, I would be willing to pay the higher price if they were bun safe! My buns get the best quality everything on the market so why not splurge on candles too? I only use flameless unfortunetly because of all my cats, but I love scented candles.
