  So I went to the humane society on Saturday for volunteering and OMG there is an Angora there!! I think he is Angora/hotot
  
  Omg how sweet he is!! And shy-until I busted out a comb and did his hair-he loved that!! So cute! I need him soooooo bad!! Dave says I can have him but then I’ll have to find someone else to share rent with bugger!!

  I can’t see the picture right now because I’m at work but I’ll have to look at it when I get home. . . An Angora/hotot mix??? You mean to tell me that they have a Henri bunny and an Acorn bunny all rolled into one? Now that would be an interesting bunny!

  Angoragirl…He is all white with hotot black eye spots (AND BEAUTIFUL BLUE EYES!!) so that’s why I think he might be a mix…So beautiful!!

  Blue eyes? Hmmm, he may not be angora then. I know that blue eyed whites are listed on the breed standards but that variation actually doesn’t occur without a mix. I wish I could see the picture!!!! Do you happen to have a link to him on petfinder or anything like that?

  Oh my!!!! He certainly does have the Angora ear tufts. . . . looks English even to me otherwise he wouldn’t have as much wool on his face. . . It’s a good thing I don’t live in Canada! I wonder which personality he has? I know my angoras are incredibly calm compared to the crazy bun Acorn
  
  To my knowledge, there are only a few breeders that try to get the blue eyed angoras. I know he has to have been crossed at some point with either Polish, netherland dwarf, fuzzy lop or a jersey wooly. There might be a few others that have the blue eyed gene but as far as I know these are the common ones to use if you are trying to get a blue eyed rabbit.

  Even if he’s a mix, he’s a beauty. I do see that some of the “torts” have blue eyes on one of the websites. But they describe them as blue gray color. I guess really more gray than pure blue.

  Oh I wasn’t saying the cross was a bad thing at all. I just remembered things I had learned when I was researching the breed and I thought I would share them.
  
  The bicolored angoras do have blue eyes sometimes but like you said, they often have a greyish or brownish tint to them. There’s a name for it but I can’t remember what the word is right now.

  We saw this bunny yesterday at the shelter when we wound up adopting Dakota the dog. Very cute! Unfortunately skittish, he retreated to the back of his cage when we came by.
