I got my rabbit almost a month ago and I’ve been trying to litter train him.
Normally, Lopsy used to poop infront of his food bowl, while he’s eating his pellets. For urine, he used to urinate in his litterbox and infront of the food bowl (next to his poop). I just could never catch him urinating to put him in the litterbox, so I couldn’t teach him
3 days ago I decided to try a new thing, I put his food bowl in a corner in his litterbox. And ever since I did that, he never pooped (nor peed, for some reason) outside the litterbox
I have 2 problems now though,
First is, he always kicks some of his pellets outside the food bowl, so now some of his pellets are all over the litterbox and he sometimes eats some of those. So is that really safe?
Second, does that actually count as litter training? I just feel that the food bowl should be outside, and he should learn where to pee.
PS: He gets unlimited pellets for now (4 months old)
PS2: He always had a hay rack that is only accessible from the litter box but for some reason he prefers pooping while eating his pellets
