Hey all, so my bunnies are pretty much bonded now (amazingly fast, no thanks to me all thanks to the bunnies I’m sure ) and I was just wondering how all you people with multiples deal with feeding time? Like how do you keep one bun from eating all the pellets and the other bun not getting any?

I thought that having seperate food dishes would help since buns are so territorial and Truffles and Flurry have very different looking bowls (one is a clip on feeder and one is a heavy crock) but when I let them play in the non neutral territory they started chowing down on the other’s food! I’m worried Flurry will eat all the pellets and get very fat and Truffles will waste awat lol.

        Thanks

LOL Kahlua always takes food out of Kokanee’s mouth-little bugger!!

I’m no help, because I don’t do feeding time, just freefeed them throughout the day. Maybe buy a large bowl they can share but both eat out of at the same time?

Our 3 get fed greens and pellets at the same time in the same bowl.  They learn pretty fast that if they don’t come and get it when it is offered, they are getting only hay that day.

we feed our bunnies at the same time, but Pandora always lets Viktor (more dominate bun) have first chance at the veggies. He likely does get more than she does – but she certainly isn’t starving. I think its ok to feed them at the same time, unless one is binging and the other is going without. I do in some situations it really is necessary to separate them for feeding.

I’d sit one day and keep an eye as they’re eating to see what’s really going on, since it’s likely Truffles is eating ok.

Well for veggies I HAVE to put one of them in the pen and one out because Flurry eats veggies faster than I would have thought possible, and Truffles is a picky nibble hear and there bun, and if Flurry eats too many veggies she ignores her cecotropes :/ I think Flurry is also eating more pellets when they both have access to both bowls, so I gave Truffles the pellets first along with his veggies, but I think I should cut back on the food in general since Truffles never finishes his less than 1/2 cup of pellets and Flurry would eat 2 cups if she could!

I would like to find a crock big enough for them both to eat out of, but still hard to tip. Anyone seen anything like that?

you could moniter them when it is feeding time, or feed them seperately, or just put the bowl down take one and have snuggle time and when half is gone, take the other bun for some snuggle time
