Hi everybun! One of my bunnies (Bluebell) has a bit of food aggression (she’ll chase, lunge and grunt at her husbun whenever I bring them food or treats) and I’m worried her husbun is becoming scared of her. I’ve ditched bowls and scatter food inatead so there’s not something to directly “get” to first, but I’ve noticed Biscuit is becoming more scared in general since this started (a couple of weeks back). He used to be very friendly and was content to let me give him plenty of head rubs, but since the chasing started from Bluebell, he’s become more scared of me, too. Is there anything I can do to help him and reduce the chasing/food aggression? When food isn’t involved they’re still very much in love, lots of grooming etc., but I don’t like seeing him so scared

Maybe try giving Bluebell food before him and separate them a little? Leave their hay in the same place so they can still eat together when they want to but as for treats or pellets you might want to try giving Bluebell her treats first to show she doesn’t have to fight for them and then Biscuit his treats a few seconds later after she’s started eating. I had the same problem with George, he used to chase Fred and I did the WRONG thing and started giving Fred his food first as “punishment” to George for his behavior. This only resulted in more aggression so I started giving George what he wanted and it stopped almost immediately.

Jenny is like this with Pippi, even though she is happily bonded to him. Try spreading the food over as big an area as possible!
