Hi. I have two bunnies that have just turned one, and this is my first experience with rabbits as a pet. Zack is very chill and likes to take his time eating. His sister Zoe on the other hand is extremely food aggressive, so much so that he’s almost given up eating any greens at all recently, which worries me because the vet said they should have some greens each day. I suspect he feels it’s not worth fighting her for every bite of greens, and honestly, she’s exhausting for both of us Because her food aggression is endless. As background information, they are caged only at night and have free run of the kitchen all day long. The aggression happens only when being fed greens, but not with hay or pellets. I have tried everything I can think of, including separating them, but as a rule I do not pick them up since neither enjoy it and Zack is actually terrified since he was dropped as a baby and before I adopted him. That said, it is difficult to get one in the cage without the other separate them without physically handling them. I hope this is enough information to help me with solving my problem. Thank you in advance for any consideration or response.

How about using a pet carrier to separate them for greens? If you put it on the floor with a ration of greens inside, do you think one of them would hop in there voluntarily?

What happens if you just put two bowls of greens down, or just scatter them onto the floor? If she chases him off, could you not give him the bowl wherever he ends up?

Does he seem scared of her in general?
