How do I avoid the flying poo?

Arduina loves to kick her feet when she jumps out of the litterbox and the poops go with her out of the litterbox.  Leo on the other hand steps out more gently and doesn’t seem to have the same problem.  The poos usually stay in the pen area where the litterbox is located and I just have to pick them up every day.  If they fall into the hay basket (next to the litterbox) it sometimes confuses Leo though, so I have to pick them out of there too.

Maybe it’s just something I’ll have to deal with..  just curious if there are any innovated methods out there.

I have very deep litter trays and this seems to help. Also having the litter tray located in a corner helps as then the poop going flying hits the wall and hopefully falls back into the litter tray.

Cotton does that every now n then.  His litterbox is against the wall and about 3 inches tall.

hmm.. i think the seem to more stick to her feet, so they trail out rather than fly back. For the most part they seem to stay in the pen area, but it is weird it is only with her (maybe its a rex thing?). (I do have the litterbox in the corner of the room and it has a high back too.)

My rex gets them on her feet and trails them out too. I’ve never found a good way to remedy this issue. I’m not interested in getting higher litterboxes, so I just deal with the few scattered poos. Pick your battles, ya know?

I think Bunnies should poop square poop, then there would be less poo-travel :p Those things roll everywhere LOL
I am wondering if the litter pan grates would help you in this situation?

I have hay in my boxes, so not as many poos coming out with bunnies, it’s just I have to many bunnies and everyone wants to leave marking poops :p

LOL! I have a blanket, or towel or mat down infront of the box so when a poo makes it out there I just take the mat, towel or blanket out & shake it, then wash them every few days! (Even if it’s marking territory poo’s!)

Yeah, same here.  Zeus trails/kicks poop out sometimes, but as long as the poop was originally “deposited” in the litterbox, I don’t care.

I have one of those plastic fake grass sorta mats for outside of cat litter boxes, it’s in the doorway leaving my bunny area (not accessable to bunnies) so that *I* don’t drag hay/poop through my whole house LOL
