My bunny is being evil tonight. She managed to get upstairs today (she’s not allowed up there) and pooped all over my bed, she also managed to find the single inch of ethernet cable that wasn’t covered up and just had to give it a nibble, then when I was in the process of hooking up the new ethernet cable, she decided to help herself to my bowl of fruit loops and glass of gatorade on the table AND THEN freaked out over nothing and knocked everything off of said table. My house looks like a freakin tornado hit it all in the course of 2 minutes. ![]()
How long do these teenage years last again?
OMG, totally laughing as I visualize this scene.
Lol, she sounds like a comedian, not a terrorist. How old is she now? Is she spayed? Teenage bunnies can be little brats sometimes, every bun is different so this behavior can last until they’re an adult (1 year old). She’ll calm down after being altered, but in the meantime, just keep a close eye on her.
Nope, definitely a terrorist, there was zero laughter happening. She is spayed but it’s only been about 2 weeks so the “calming affects” haven’t set it at all.
I feel you, sometimes I think Nugget is evil and always concocting sneaky plans to escape his area, destroy our furniture/carpet, or get into the corners he’s not allowed in. It sucks for us owners, but they’re probably giggling away while we freak out. Just give it some more time, it might take a couple more weeks for the hormones to dissipate and hopefully you’ll start seeing some changes in her. Good luck!
My female is over 2 years and still in her “naughty teenage phase” – I am unsure if some buns ever grow out of it. But, she should calm down some in a few weeks as her hormones settle from the spay. I have the black vacuum cord covers on all my cords, even the tiniest bit exposed and it’d be byebye cords with Stickers around. lol If you want to repair your old one so you don’t have to toss it, you just cut it open and twist the matching colors together and tape it back up. That is what I did when Stickers managed to get behind my baby gate to get the uncovered bit of ethernet. ![]()
Stickerbunny- I’ve said “bye bye” to my computer charger cord, lamp cord, phone charger cord, and PS controller cord. Sigh, that’s how they pay us back for all the love we give them. So ungrateful lol.
You need to check out the “Bunny Shaming” thread in the lounge! You’ll have to share there too!
Have you tried any cord covers? The plastic corrugated ones come in may sizes and colors online, or you can get the basic black and/or white at the hardware store normally. Cords for phone charges are usually not a huge danger to your bunny or your house, but you do have to be very careful with lamps, vacuums or anything higher powered. Some bunnies can really get zapped and get hurt, AND…if they only chew part way through, the cord can turn into a fire hazard for your home, so definitely try and search out cord covers.

Uh huh. Even with my blockades around all my wires I can’t cover, I have said goodbye to my DS charger, nook charger, a DVD player cord, two ethernet cables and a PS2 cable. Thankfully, I think I have finally figured out how to successfully block things off (that takes a lot more effort than it seems, break in artists) and the cables were all unplugged when they got chewed so no zapped rabbit. And … I have become adept at cable repair, since all it takes to fix anything chewed is a pair of wire strippers and some electrical tape. Except the nook charger, she was nice enough to nip that off at the very tip where it meets the charge base so no extra wire to twist.
Powder on the other hand, will lay on top of exposed wires and not even try to nibble. The only time he’s touched a wire is when it got in his way and he had to gently move it with his mouth. Such a gentleman that one.
My 12.5 week old flemish giant jumped the baby gate today. We are so screwed.
I haven’t been able find those cord covers where I live. Only the hard plastic kind you attach to the wall… hardly convenient when talking about an ethernet cable… I’m going back to America to visit my family next month so I’m planning on picking some up to bring back with me but until then…

This made me lol. And I thought I was in trouble because Fiona can jump on the couch on her own!

Do you have car supply places around there? They are used for car wiring over here, might be similar in your country?
I can look… but it’ll probably be easier if I just stick it out for another month though. Trying to convey the idea of plastic corrugated cord covers in Korean… yeah… it took me 6 months to find someone who understood my obscure vocabulary and hand motions for sticky tack so I don’t hold out much hope for cord covers.
I used some tubing meant to go at the back of washing machine from my local diy store and put all the wires inside that. Worked for us.

Ah, hrm. I wish I could just send you some, I have like 40ft of it i’m not using.
We had to tape our ethernet cords to the wall -_- There was no way to get it from Ashe’s room, over Moogles play area, and to the router without hanging it up high lol. And I have to close the door when Ashe is out. She flies right over the baby gate ><

Heh, yeah my ethernet cable is running along the ceiling instead of baseboards like normal. How did you get it from room to room past doors without letting it touch the floor though? We had to run ours under one door, which is where it is cord covered and then back up.
