My three met for a very short time last night because I was moving something and forgot to close the gate. Henri and Lilly just stood next to eachother but then Acorn came in the room and charged at Lilly! I’m talking full speed, I’m going to get you charge, not running up to see if she wants to play. Lilly was scared and cried out and then ran into her corner.

I’m wondering if flower essences (such as Bach’s rescue remedy) can be used with bunnies. According to the sites, they are safe but I wanted to know if any of you had actual experience with them? I know that they have worked wonders for some cats and dogs but I have never actually heard of anyone using it on their buns. Specifically I would be looking into getting Lilly one for fear (as she is not only scared of Acorn but just about everything) and Acorn one that is made for agression/bonding situations. I plan on calling my vet to see what she thinks but do any of you guys have any experience with them?

Yes they can. I bought the rescue remedy and dosed Rupert with it once. We didn’t really notice a difference as to him calming down, but I would use it in a stressful situation and lots of people swear by it.

Cool, thanks! I think I might try it pre bonding sessions to see if there is any effect on my high strung boy.

I got the liquid kind with a dropper. Bought it on ebay cheap. I just gave him two drops…We tried the stuff ourselves too (first ) and it tastes not so good LOL

I asked the people at the CO-HRS about using things like oil diffusers (you can get aromatherapy oils that will help calm cats & dogs) or a little indoor waterfall to help with relaxing bunny’s.

They said anything that might make a more relaxing environment is worth a try.

Therefor, I would say go for it!

I know that using the Feliway (feline pheromones) really helped our stray kitty handle the confinement of her ‘apartment’ all winter. Unfortunately it wound up causing my other cats to get more territorial because they suddenly wanted to be in that room too. :-/ It must’ve smelled really good to them, so they were jealous. >.>
I spray Pippi’s sleepy box with two sprays of the atomizer of rescue remedy to help her readjust after I clean. It seems to work okay, but I think just routine is the best thing for her to calm her. Plus her little ‘stunt bunny’, that toy bunny I put in there with her. She guards that thing like a mother wolf!
I wonder if there couldn’t be something that would distract Acorn from charging Lilly. He sounds like he needs something to do so he’ll feel the same specialness he had when it was just him and Henri. (And no, I’m not talking another bunny for him to play with…lolz!)

I use it, have used it for a long time upon the recommendation from my veterinarian and I talk about it a lot. Yes, it is safe, I give mine 4 drops in the water crock or a few directly by mouth if they are going to the vet. It calms them right down.

Usually I would say try it on aggressive rabbits who are always that way, I am not sure if it would work in this case because it is only towards one rabbit.
