Floppy is getting neutered today! Will keep you guys up to date on his
recovery and I will definitely be posting questions if I start to worry about anything!
Wish him luck!
I’ll be sending healthy neuter vibes to Floppy.
good luck to Floppy!! I love that picture too, he’s got perfect technique with the horizontal ears ![]()
Floppy came home and the surgery was fine.
He is just tired and resting right now, rightfully so cause my baby’s had
a rough day…he hasnt eaten anything yet, hopefully he will later tonight.
Once in awhile I hear his teeth grinding, and I wonder if its just him
expressing that he is sore. Overall he looks good though, and hopefully
he will recover just fine…
This is a picture of him this morning before he went in for his surgery…

and this is him afterwards…he is laying in his mostly laying in his litter box
right now, even though I put a nice clean towel in there for him to rest on…

He must be thinking, "I’ve had better days."
Hopefully he’ll bounce back pretty quickly – mine usually do. Also it depends on what time they did the surgery as to when he’ll be back to normal.
You might entice him with some kale or dill or some other fresh greens to try to get him to eat.
Quick healing vibes to Floppy.
My best to Floppy and a quick recovery. Please do let us know if we can help in any way.
Floppy poo’ed and it was not normal which i know is normal for
him after being neutered but should i worry about cleaning it
off his bottom? I dont want to handle him since he just had
surgery, should i just let him clean it? I don’t know what to do!
I would let him be for now unless it’s horribly messy. He will probably clean himself soon, he’s just too sore and tired. If he continues to grind his teeth, you may want to call the vet for some pain meds.
Otherwise, if he’s in too much pain, he won’t eat.
Keep us updated. I am sending healing vibes to Floppy!! ![]()
I didnt worry about it tooo much, and he managed to clean off
the poo that he stomped on which was on his foot. So that made me
feel better. He came out of his cage briefly and then he went back in
I made sure he didnt come out anymore cause I was afraid he might
over do it. He hasnt eaten much but the clinic gave me some info that
said in the first 24 hours he may not eat much, so I am really hoping
that he will eat more on Friday. He has been drinking water though
and his stool came out in a pellet shape which made me feel better
as well…oh and his teeth grinding has been minimal since he came
home. I’ll keep you guys updated! Thanks everyone for the healing
vibes and advice!

awww the poor lil bebe – mine always kind of just sit and stare like that after surgery. Boy’s are usually up and about very soon : I would caution you for the next week to not give him too much space to run around. If you turn him over to check on his neutering scars you will see that the surgery makes them quite swollen for a couple days, which makes it very easy for him to hurt himself if he is running and leaping around. You can check his underneath area about once a day to see how the healing process is going, and once the swelling has gone down, then it is more safe for him to be running around. Give him a nice pet on the head for me!
Floppy started eating some food late last night and he
has been drinking water and eating food! Which thrilled me!
Here are a couple of photos of him eating this morning!

I’m glad to hear that! I can understand your stress too so I’m glad he’s better and eating.
I must say he’s a lovely bun! Hope the recovery continues to go well!
That’s great, it really sounds like he is coming around now. Before you know it he’ll be doing binky’s all over the place!
Glad Floppy is doing well with his recovery process! He’s such a cutie! Harley did good with his, too. It takes a day or so for them to ‘feel themselves’ but hes eating for you and pooping, so he seems like he’s on the road to healing quickly. Harley wanted to venture out the day I brought him home, but I was nervous and wanted him to rest. The next day, we let him out a bit for some exercise, but only for about 30 mins with us right there. He ate more when he did that I noticed. Keep us posted on Floppys progress and Harley gives him a "high paw" to being "berrieless"……..lol……..

Thank you all for wishing Floppy well and he is on his way to being his old self again!
Since he is doing so well I am going to post a few last pictures of him for you guys to
see and I have to say, now that Floppy and I have been through this process, I can
now answer some questions for others who will be going through this process in the
future! It’s always good to get advice from someone who has experience! Thanks again!

Earlier in the day, getting some rest…

Here he is out and about for a lil bit tonight…
YEAH!!! And you are so right, now you can help others out. That is exactly what this site is about!
LOVE the bunny in a bag pics!!!!!! I’m SO glad your bunny is back to his old self…it’s a sickening feeling watching and waiting for things to get back to normal (hell I even slept under the bed with The Bum because he worried me so much). Your rab is gorgeous!!!!!
What a sweetie pie Floppy is. I love the one where he is crashed out on the natural fiber mat in his cage, that is just precious! Just like Binky Bunny said, the idea of this forum is a place for us to gather and share and pass along everything we have learned and been through. Pretty soon, you’ll be an expert!
Oh my god, I’m in love! What a cute little fuzzybum!
he’s so precious, so glad the recovery is going well. it’s great that you’ll be able to share your experience with other members who are nervous about getting their bun neutered 🙂
