        Hello

I took my bunny Nox to a emergency vet last night because she was very lethargic. The vet told me she was in GI stasis. They gave her fluids and set me home with critical care. She had been eating and acting more lively this morning but now she won’t leave her littler box She even flopped in it which scared the poop outta me! Does flopping mean something different when they are very gassy? She pooped about 4 hours ago and hasn’t again but she was nibbling a bit of hay. Should I take her back to the vet?

Poor thing. Did they give any pain meds? Any motility drugs? Did they do an X-ray? Did you give her any gas baby drops? They can have them since the body doesn’t absorb them. What were the poops like? It’s good she’s munching hay but you need to keep the critical care in her to keep her hydrated and to prevent fatty liver from not eating. My buns will lay in the litter box if they don’t feel good. Have you felt her abdomen to feel of her tummy is hard or soft? Too soft means there is no food in it and she should be force fed. Try and entice her with yummy herbs like cilantro, basil and mint to see if that will get her to start eating again.
