hi everyone, I have kind of a weird question. Is it normal for bunnies to flop right after being held? My mom was vacuuming and I had to pick up Lola because she wasn’t moving and was just chilling, and she just nibbled on a treat from my hand and was calm, and when I put her down, she struggled a little and so I waited for her to calm down and put her down. She flopped right after, and actually is more ok with being pet now. I guess this is good, but has anyone else experienced this?

I personally haven’t had this happen, but flopping is a communication means for rabbits! Perhaps relief, or a snide “Pff… I don’t care that just happened at all.”

Ahh, I’m glad. I did get a foot flick but the flop was so cute! She’s much more “floppy” than Louie, but he still flops with her every now and then.

Silver did this just now when I picked her up for grooming. She ran to the litter box first, then bounced over to a comfy spot and flopped there. Rabbits are definitely interesting fluffy little critters. 🙂

Haha, I’ve definitely witnessed some passive-aggressive flopping before. “I’m way too cool to care about you” was THE attitude when I first bonded Clover and Celia. I can definitely imagine a bunny having the same attitude after being *gasp* picked up.
