        Hi guys!

I was just wondering what you all thought about fleece beds for bunnies? A friend of mine on the chinchilla forum makes beds for chinchillas and she can make mine a little bigger for my girls! Bailey and Lilly have been sleeping on the wooden shelf on the top level of the cage. Not to comfy for them I would watch them to make sure they are not eating it of course, so no worries there!

I just wondered if anyone else uses a small bed like this for their bunnies? Thanks so much!

i think that would be okay..as long as the bunnies didnt eat any of the material. i gave buttons a towl to lay on, which he loved, but it was also his favorite snack. so bye-bye with that. remember to keep a close eye on them! fleece sounds very comphy. i know that pet stores sell little beds called cuddle cups or something. but its even nicer if a friend makes one. and cheaper!

I actually prefer ‘faux sheepskin’ it’s absorbant (if they pee or are ill), washable-and goes right in the dryer They use it professionally for pet beds too http://pet.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pPETS-3756612dt.jpg

            But fleece sounds fine

I have a little fleece cat bed from the pet store. Otto pushes it aside. Lol He much prefers to sleep on a hard cool surface. I do use fleece as flooring in his cage and he loves the traction is provides. I don’t see any problem with getting your buns a fleece bed, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t use it 😉

Monkey loves her little fleece bed. Sometimes I put one of the hubby’s shirts over it when she has decided to tug on it, but not too often these days. I moved it in front of the sliding door to the balcony and she’s content to sit in it and stare outside

Bun had a little cozy fleece bed and she destroyed it. She dug like crazy in it and ripped out all the fuzz. I gave it to my guinea pigs until they turned it into a cesspool of filth. Ugh. What a waste of 20$. What Bun loves to lay on now is like a fuzzy bird house tent that they sell at Petco for 12$. It’s not large enough for a bigger rabbit to lay on, but she loves her towel and smashed bird tent lol.

I try to give Hunny fancy bedding and lovely things to lay on and she shoves it aside and gets upset with it. She likes to sleep on hard bare surfaces!

What an angel little Monkey is! I hope my girls like it, but sounds like bunnies could go either way, Destruco-bunny or Comfy-bunny! I am hoping mine are not the destructive type! We shall see when it gets here! I will let everyone know!

Yeah, everyone is surprised by my little Monkey, she has never marked anything in the apartment, has never gone potty except in her box (except for one time when she got out and couldn’t find it… she was so embarassed!) She’s my little black angel bunneh

I got a fleece bed called a bunny bed, online for my bunny, Buddie. At first, he only slept on it a few times but he’s in a large 2×6 foot 30″ high pen now and I got him a cat tunnel that’s nylon lined with fleece. He loves to sleep, AND groom, AND munch romaine lettuce in that. But when I put his bunny bed on the bottom of the tunnel, he flopped on his side on it and didn’t seem to want to come out, he was so comfy in that. The sides of the tunnel elevated his head so gave him the equivalent of a pillow. As well, the oval-shaped bunny bed has bumpers around the edges and I’m watching to see if he ever puts his head on those as a pillow. So he now has his equivalent of a person’s luxury bed with comforter. And he doesn’t chew it either. Best bunny bed I could find for him. For those whose bunnies are in cages, the cat tunnel might be too bulky for the cage. But Buddie dozes away the afternoons in his bunny bed tunnel and gives a good yawn when and if, he finally emerges from it. I had gotten a snuggle-nest bed available in the UK but it had fur stitched or glued on the side of the plush in the shape of a paw print and Buddie became obsessed with chewing off the fur so I removed it. But no such problems with the wonderfully cosy bunny bed tunnel. If I were smaller, I might be tempted to try sleeping in it myself! Kay Skvorc, San Francisco
