Do you have any other pets in the house?  They would need to be treated also.  Advantage and Revolution are safe for bunnies- but I would talk to your vet to make sure you are applying the correct amount for her weight.  Revolution is a prescripion and Advantage is now more commonly being sold over the counter also.  But it is very important to make sure you are getting the right product as some products like Frontline and Advantix are toxic to rabbits.

If you have other pets in the house and suspect this issue could have been going on for awhile-  you should treat the house also.

i went to petsmart and asked the girl who works there if there was flea stuff for rabbits and she said they had a spray for flea and ticks for small animals. she said its pretty effective but they were out of stock, but anyone know if its worth the try?

I wouldn’t. “small animal” products aren’t always good for the entire line of “small animals”

I tried it. It was a disaster. Poor Dusty does not like having things sprayed on her. We got her back, legs and belly pretty good but i knew they were on her head and ears and there was no way I was going to spray something on her head that said “if contacted with skin, wash thoroughly for 15-20 mins” And then she started licking it off while we were supposed to let it dry :/ So I washed it off and dried her off with a towel and my hair dryer a bit and went out to get some Advantage. I’m at work now but I’m gonna put that on her when I get home.

She’s a tiny baby bunny, what’s a good dosage for her?

Due to the life cycle of the flea you should treat your bunny for approx 3 months.  It sounds like the cat introduced them- they went dormant in their pupae stage and then was triggered by the heat/movement of the bunny.  And I have to mention again- make sure it is Advantage for CATS- never Advantix for Dogs (as that is toxic to cats and bunnies).

Do you know how much your bunny weighs?  dosing is based on weight- and you cannot bath a good 24-48 hours before or after application- the product uses the oil on the skin and haircoat to distribute all over the body.  Bathing will strip away those natural hair coat/skin oils.  And bathing with Dawn dishsoap will remove most of the product completely after application.

How often should I treat her? I got Advantage for cats less than 9 lbs with six dosages. (they didn’t have kitten) I don’t know how much she weighs, i just know shes really small haha. I put half of a dosage on her, but unfortunately I had just washed her to get that other flea spray off :/ She was still itching, i had to do something!! ughhh :[

I use Advantage for cats less than 9 lbs as well.—-That is the “kitten formula”

My vet has told me to use 1/2 of those tubes for Vivian (and Rucy when she was alive). Rucy weighed 4 lbs, and Vivian weighs 5 lbs. Originally, my vet said to give Jack, who is almost 9 lbs, a half of dose, but that would not fully kill the fleas, so then she said it was okay to use the full tube. That has not been a problem for him.  I do separate Jack and Vivian though for 12 hours as they will groom each other and ingest the flea medicine.

If you have a really tiny bunny, then I don’t know if you need to use less than 1/2. You may need to just consult with your vet. I don’t have to go in to see my vet to ask that question. Do you have a rabbit-savvy vet? OHHH…but you’ll have to get your bunnies weight somehow. You can check your weight on a regular scale, and then check your weight again with your bunny and subtract the difference.

I also would watch carefully over the next few days since you put that flea spray on her and then  I’m sure she groomed herself, licking it ..not too sure how good that is for her.
