This morning I got my rabbit out to brush her and discovered she has fleas. I don’t want this to spread onto our cats and dogs, so what can I use to safely treat her?

You can get Revolution kitten formula from your vet. Advantage is also safe to use on rabbits, but Revolution is probably more widely used. You put the drops on the back of their neck where they can’t reach and lick it. DO NOT use Frontline or any medication that contains Fipronil. That has proven deadly to rabbits. You will need to keep the house well vacuumed, especially any rooms your rabbit is in. Fleas only stay on the animal at times, other times they are in carpets or upholstery or just in the area.

You may need to treat your dog and cat too to make sure all the fleas are dead and to stop the cycle of re-infestation. It’s possible that they already have a flea or two on them.
