I was scrolling through my phone and found this picture of Olaf, the first one I ever took of him after bringing him home. I had forgotten how small he was and how he hadn’t quite filled out to match the size of his ears yet. He was 6 months old and his nose smudge and dark markings had yet to spread all the way. My little baby peanut! He will be two years old this spring.
It got me wondering, do you have a favorite first picture of your bun(s)?
The first day of our adventure (6 months):

Today:

Olaf is just as cute then as he is now
. This is my first pic of Luna, when she originally belonged to my sister, Aug 2014.
Below is my favorite pic of her in Sept 2016.

Awww….wittle Olaf and Luna!!!! Too cute!!! ![]()
Some of my first pics of Bindi, some 9ish years ago. He just cracks me up. His ears were way too big for him. I had to include more than 1 because of the ridiculous adorable level. ![]()

This is the first pic I took of Sterling outside the shelter when we got him last May.

BINDI! His ears are so floppy!! ![]()
Here’s my first picture of Chomondeley, when he still had airplane ears…![]()
Chewie on his gotcha day – at the shelter, and then at home ![]()

Q8bunny, are you teaching your bunny basic English there?
Shh don’t tell her bunnies can’t read.
Ahh! So many cute bunny pics, especially the baby bunnies. Always so cute ![]()
Here’s the very first pic of Apollo and Luna. Not much has changed except that they’re not a pair of fatties anymore, lol.

Just for fun, here’s my first pic of Bandit
He had such oversized ears! ![]()

So handsome! ![]()
Aww love this thread!! I’ve only had my bubba man for a week so all his photos are his bubba photos so far that I post – I have taken a million haha
love seeing all your bubs !
oh wow, Chewie looks like such a character
this whole thread is too adorable.
This is Gus during our first meeting at the RSPCA (he climbed into my lap and I fell in love pretty quick!)

And here he is just the other day, trying to keep cool while visiting my parents.

Why am I wearing a blanket in this one?
When Reese was little, she loved to pull grass as hard as she could. If you held one in your hand, she would yank it from in between your fingers!!
This is the little 4th of July hat I made her.
Reese loves to play in the herbs, but she was soooo hard to catch! (This is in the same place as the grass photo)
LPT, oh my goodness, is that Bindi??? He was super-cute even as a baby!
Here’s the first pic I have of Bam, from Dec 2011. He looks kind of young in that pic. He hasn’t grown since then, so he was an adult.
Bam, I think that’s the biggest downside to rescuing full grown buns
no cute baby pics to look back on….
Chewie looks like he was still quite young when you got him, Q8?
Defo a load of little cuties <3
Awww……all these cute little buggers! My day started out badly so this was a nice treat ![]()
Love seeing all these throwback pictures, too! Babies or adults, it is such a wonderful feeling to reminisce about our best friends on their first few days with us. I love thinking about how happy and overwhelming it was to take on such a fun responsibility–and how much he has changed my life for the better.
All of these are so adorable!! Reese was so tiny! ![]()
He was only four months old, GJ.
Gus, Reese, and Bam are such sweet babies ![]()
I adopted Chester when he was an adult already, but here is his first picture! I was doing a project 365 then, hence the date. He’s as cute as always
It’s so adorable seeing everyone’s cute first photos!

Well, thanks to the internet, I was getting pictures of Patton before I got him so I’m not sure if I should post the baby stuff or the first pics I MYSELF took. In case of the latter, here is the first recorded image out of hundreds. ![]()
These photos are all so cute! All these adorable babies <3
We adopted Buffy at a year old, so she looks pretty much exactly the same now as she did then. But I’m always down to post photos of her! Neither my boyfriend nor I have a smartphone, so I have to get photos on my best friend’s phone (she usually comes over about twice a week, so I take over her phone camera during that time). We’ve only had Buffy for a month, and my friend already has over 500 photos on her phone.
Here’s the first one I took (the day we got her):

Here is the first pic of Tolliver Sprout- I had to prove to my mother that my beagle mutt hadn’t taken a chomp out of the new baby bun. Below is a pic from about a week ago, bunny and beagle buddies for life haha ![]()

This was the first photo taken of him ( obviously still with breeder at the time )
He’s so cute :3 haha OakleysMama, is he going to be a tort or a different color, do you know? What color are his tips anticipated? (Black, gold etc. Tolly is a black tip tort for example
)
Barrett, was Patton in a rescue or did he work with kids before you acquired him? Retired pet education specialist turned model, perhaps? ![]()
Oakley is likely a cream ( fawn is the dilute version of orange , then cream is the dilute version of fawn ) , it can be difficult to tell if they are fawn or cream ( cream is rarer) when young but as they age the cream gets more obvious difference as they age.

When he was really young his coat came though yellowy beige ( like in the pic above I posted of him at 2weeks) then he looked like peter rabbits colour at 8weeks and now he has darkened patches on his face and his ears etc
Will post a pic below that shows his colour now that he’s 9weeks old today as he has changed alot last 4days
The lighting at mo makes his coat look more orangey than it is… it’s 7 am here and I only have phones camera as I used all the camera batteries up this morning as my twins are 5 today
But that photo does show the dark patches developing – just take into account the orange glow from bad lighting haha
Oakley’s mama, he’s just too adorable for words =)
Thanks
we originally wanted a fawn or orange but fell in love with this guy
he’s the sweetest little man !

Look at your little girl being so gentle with bunnies! I bet you are a proud mom
Cute bonded pair <3
My little love… I thought that he was cold…
Titanis I saw your pic and thought “oh Oakley isn’t weird after all!” Then read that you put the blanket on him haha
My boy puts HIMSELF under the blankets !!
Hahaha, ok, I admit, I am weird, you got me.? My bunnys are like children to me. I have another bunny, but all the puctures are too big to be uploaded.
there is no better way to be than a little weird
and what do you mean my bunny ISNT a child???! *looks over at Oakley asleep with his peter rabbit soft toy and snuggled in his blanket* ( insert confused look )
No, no..He is very cute. It’s goid to know that I’m not the only one who has bunny children. ?
Like others I adopted Theo when he was mostly grown up so I only have one picture of Theo when he was a baby (well.. a few months old I reckon). This is him with his first owner.. this is the picture I saw before going to visit and choose if I wanted to adopt him – you can imagine my surprise when I got there and he was nearly full grown!! He is so cute ![]()

This is the first picture I ever took of him. He is 8 months here according to previous owners but I reckon more like 6 months as he has grown a lot since then. Look at his wee chubby fluffy belly and ears too big for his head.

And this was him last week chilling out on my mum’s fireplace at christmas. He will be 2 in April – big and bad!! My favourite thing though is seeing the difference in his facial markings since baby-hood and now.

Oh, I have such a soft spot for your furbaby
