Hello, it’s gonna be my first 4th of July with my bun bun and I was wondering how I could calm her down. She got pretty nervous during the New Years so I can only imagine the 4th of July. Is there some kind of natural herb or something I could give her to calm down?

          Look into rescue remedy.

I do not know it’s use on rabbits, but it’s great for dogs and cats (and people).

Desensitizing my bunny to fireworks sounds worked for me. I played fireworks sounds from YouTube at a low noise level till my bunny got used to it, then I upped the sound level to a more moderate-loud sound range (like a tv being on range) and he got used to that too. Last Fourth of July he didn’t even flinch at the actual fireworks going off over my house, just binkied around the room. Though he still heard my brother sneeze from three rooms away, angling his ears for that🙃.

That’s a great idea about desensitizing slowly!

I used rescue remedy when I moved with my buns. I have no idea if it helped, but they all made the move ok!

Playing some “white noise” while the fire works are happening can also help.

Thank you all, I’ll try desensitizing. See if that works for her.
