Ok so this may seem like a silly question but I noticed something today.

Well, with most animals you are supposed to feed them at certain points in the day like sort of how humans eat, and i was wondering if its the same thing for bunnies?

Like my rabbit coco, she loves to eat. I swear if i gave her food all day she would eat it, but i’m starting to realize that if i let her she’d eat until she busted!   So my question to throw out to everyone is when do you feed your rabbits? How often do you give ure rabbits vegetables and pellets?

thanks for any help you can give me

I feed my three rabbits twice a day. They get pellets, veggies and hay at 7:00 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. I try to make sure they have hay throughout the day and I usually give them a little “bedtime salad” too. Most animals should be fed several small meals throughout the day but for most owners this is just unreasonable with work and schedules.

I feed Edson his pellets at 5:30 am.  I get up so early and I can’t walk down the hall without him standing at the doorway waiting for his food! Then he gets his salad around 5 pm.  He also gets a bedtime treat – mint or a sprig of dill or an occasional sliver of carrot at 10 pm. Then lights out!  I do refresh his hay 2 or 3 times a day too. They really like a schedule and boy if you are late, big trouble!  I get the moondog face at the door…

I give Oreo her greens at around 9am, at this time i refresh hay and water in her bottle………then at around 7pm she gets her pellets and a small treat which is usally her papaya. She seems to respond to this very well and even will come to the cage and give me love now unlike before when there wasn’t a schedule.

I feed opal before i go to school some pellets
Then he has hay all day
At about 8 pm he gets pellets and veggies
And depending on what time i go to bed he gets a few healthy treats

Not a silly question at all!

I also prefer to have the nibble throughout the day as their system is not really set up for large amount intake, however, I can rarely do that, so I only give them hay in the am  which forces them to eat more hay, but they do have a pellet and greens snack at around noon (not on their schedule, but they get out of their sleepy funk to enjoy treat time. They are more active throughout the evening, so I give more pellets around five and then I give them their greens at 8pm or later and they munch on them slowly throughout the evening.

The thing is, they will figure it out right away and adjust to whatever food schedule. They’ll begin to predict it.

However, they are naturally inclined to eat early at dawn, and then later at dusk.
