I have only noticed this lately, but when Momo is on her evening runs, she will binky and zoom like a wild woman for about 15 to 20 minutes, then lay down all stretched out for about 5 to 10 minutes and breath really fast and really hard. I way laying with my head next to her tonight while she was resting, and I could hear her breathing. Seeing as how this is my first rabbit, I have no idea if this is normal or if I should be concerned. She does not seem to be in any discomfort while resting, and after a break she is back to acting crazy again.

If her fast breathing only follows some wild bunny run activity, and yet then eventually the breathing gets back to normal after after 10 minutes, then sounds normal. However, if she would do her runs before, and never breathed this fast, and this post exercise breathing seems more intense than normal then it’s the “change” that you have be concerned about. If you had just never noticed it before because you hadn’t paid close attention until now that that’s one thing, but if you are actually noticing a change then that’s another.

It is possible that I just haven’t noticed it before. Could it also be due to the high humidity recently?

It could. Running fast makes anyone breathe faster, and humidity is harder on us all.
If you can put down a fresh dish of cool water after she’s done running and let her know it’s there (like touch her nose with a drop from it) she may benefit from having a cool drink while resting.

My bunnies both do this, and I imagine the humidity and high temps make it worse. As long as she recovers in a few minutes I think she’s fine.
