        My new bun Esther does something that I assume is just one of her quirks. What she does is she starts to to fall asleep in the middle of something. For example, she was licking her foot then she kinda dropped it, started closing her eyes, and readjusted into a loaf and fell asleep. I assume this is perfectly fine and is just her being her. What do you guys think? Do your buns do things like this? At some points in the day she sleeps pretty deeply and couldn’t be bothered to wake up for anything other than pellets or willow leaves. I know they’re prey so is it weird for her to sleep deeply? Or is that just her being lazy for anything but food?

          Awwww! 😀 She sounds adorable! Yes, my ladies do it all the time, they’ll just flop over on their sides and start snoring. 😆 (to be fair, it’s only Silver who snores 😉 )

          Pics would be much appreciated! 😛

            @HipHopBunny

            Thanks! She just made a quiet squeaky noise as she’s sleeping. Why is that. Is it an issue?

              Awww what a dear. My buns do this too. Bonnie will sometimes make little squeaks when she sleeps. Bertha would do it occasionally too. In that context it is usually a sign of contentment called “clucking”

                And deep sleep is important for buns, mine sleep deeply most of the day. They might use their box once during the day, or get up and groom or eat cecals for a few minutes, then back to sleep. They do most of their hay-eating overnight, and are most active otherwise morning and evening. They are prey, but wild buns would spend large amounts of time sleeping in dens or burrows.
