This is from the 2004 International Exotic Vet Conference with many articles from Dr. Hartcour-Brown who is one of the leading rabbit vets in the world.

This is obviously written for vets and I don’t fully understand many of the things talked about.

But it has articles on calcium metabolism, dental, e cunniculi…many good articles.

I posted it in the thick urine post but wasn’t sure many would read that post and I had not really looked at the whole issue other than the calcium article.

You may have to download this to your computer.

Verr cool! It took awhile for me to open it b/c it’s so large, but when it finally came up… WOW! Some really cool pics too. I just scanned it briefly.

The way scientific articles are written they all have an abstract-so in pretty plain language at the start of the article they’ll summarize the findings-reading the whole article is generally (depending on the format) unnecessary except for rigourous studying of it Dr. Harcourt Brown is leading edge bladder sludge vet-pretty cool!

My advice for reading scientific journal articles:  Read the abstract, the lit review (that’s the beginning of the article through the study/methodology section) then skip to discussion.  Sorry I haven’t had a chance to read through the journal, and I may be only talking about APA styled articles, but I find this is the best way to get the info you need.  The rest often includes that scientific and statistic crap that aren’t really all that interesting or worth wrapping your brain around…..sorry but currently I’m stuck in stats hell w/ the diss.

Yes, it took a while to download, (a minute or so for me) and at first I thought it wasn’t working and so i clicked on it a couple of times. So if anyone has the same problem, just know to wait a bit and it should work.

                  THANK YOU SARITA!!!

There is a lot of good information in there – thanks for posting! (It also reminded me why I’d never be capable of being a vet….)
