Enki

I hate that I am posting here yet again. 

I got a call at 5am this morning that I needed to be to the vets office as soon as possible. I got to the vets office at 8:45am and was told that Enki was much worse and it was advised that he be put to sleep. He was not going to survive and I was warned that if I wanted to see him that he was in very bad shape. I went in to see him and my heart instantly broke. He was still conscious but unable to move anything other than his left front paw. His head was tilted all of the way back and he looked absolutely terrified. I’ve never seen that look in Enki’s eyes before and I knew that it would be better for him to end it than to let him be scared and unable to move. I held him and let the vet do what she needed to do and gave him nose rubs until he was gone.

I am going to miss my crazy sneezy lap bunny. I am heartbroken but I am relieved that he no longer has to battle with anything ever again. 

Even though it just of his face this is my favorite picture of Enki. He was so happy on this day that he practically did binkies all day long.

I am so so sorry.
I started tearing up when I was reading this… I’m sure he knows that you loved him. You took amazing care of him and he couldn’t have lived in a better home. When time goes on, some of the pain will go away, and you can start remembering all the good times you had with each other.
I will be thinking of you during this hard time.

Sitting here bawling my eyes out . . . I am so so so sorry. Enki has kindof been my poster bun for the fight and spirit rabbits can have. I was really hoping Enki would pull through this and maybe even be the one to get Monty in line. You could not possibly be a better bunny parent. I can’t even imagine how much you’re hurting, but know that you absolutely made the right decisions now and all along. Sending as many hugs as I can to you. Binky free sweet Enki.

I’m so very sorry, Sonn. My heart just broke seeing that he passed away. He was such a tough little guy. He’s with his buddies now and will no longer have any health issues to battle. I’m crying, I was very fond of him, even though I never met him.

Oh no, I’m so sorry, Sonn. We were all hoping he would pull through, he was such a fighter.
He is free from pain now, and he knew he was loved.

Crying! I am SO sorry Sonn – thanking you for loving and adoring Enki.
Enki was a special bunny, and you are a wonderful bunny parent – you were both so lucky. When the hurt starts to ease (eventually), always remember that Sonn. Take care….

Sonn, I don’t know if you received my message at Bunspace, but I am so very sorry that Enki has passed. :'(
I was unable to login to BB until now, the site has been down for me.
There really are no words. I wanted him to pull through too, because he was so wonderful and you’ve had to deal with so much heartbreak this year already. He was such a fighter, it just doesn’t seem possible.

Thank you everyone. It has been a difficult year to say the least. But I am comforted by the fact that he is no longer struggling for breath and doesn’t have to be annoyed by the oxygen mask strapped to his face. He hated that thing and would give the stink eye to anyone around when he had to wear it.

I am sorry to hear about Enki. You did all you could for him. He is now at peace and no longer sick and in discomfort.
