Okay so. In preparation for Little-Bit’s big day tomorrow, I’ve pulled out my ol’ bunny first aid kit and am going over everything I have in it to make sure I’m not missing anything.

        I’ve got:

-a bunch of different kinds of bandages and bandaging tape, including small butterfly closures

        -UltraVite Vita-Sol liquid multi-vitamin

        -Infant’s Mylicon (Simethicone)

        -a tube of laxatone

-a bottle of ‘New Skin’ liquid bandage (which obviously would be ONLY used as a last-ditch resort)

        -Peter’s Rabbit-Aide electrolyte Concentrate & Hydration Solution

        -a stethoscope

        -a (needle-less) syrringe

        -an eyedropper

And I’m going out to the store today to buy some Pedialyte, baby food, styptic powder or corn starch, peroxide, sterile gauze, mini flashlight, magnifying glass,  and Q-tips.

        Am I missing anything?

Not sure about baby aspirin – I’ve never heard about giving a rabbit this – your vet should give you pain meds for Little Bit which is what you should use.

Yes, and Critical Care is something that the vet has to approve, right?

Binkles:  The critical care question was asked before  The response was that you can actually purchase the critical care direct from Oxbow, so you don’t need to have a vet to get it.  At least it’s not about being a prescription food…My guess that it’s mostly from the vet so that people won’t use it just to fatten up tasty rabbits.  Though my Jessica has been fattened up by dried fruit, which I think makes her more of a tasty treat!

I thought that as is w/ dogs, Aprin should NOT be used!  Interestingly, Asprin is not currently recommended for babies or children due to increased incidences of  Reye’s Syndrome.

No, the vet doesn’t have to approve it but unless you’ve ordered it directly through Oxbow you won’t be able to get it in time unless your lucky enough to have your vet carry it too.

If not you can make your own pellet slurry too.
