This is an appeal from The Rabbit Haven of Scotts Valley California.

        See Oreo’s video

        Please Help Oreo

This sweet and small (4 pounds) curly mini rex was surrendered by her owner because they were too ill to care for her any longer. She has very minimal and easily treated medical issues, but there is no longer any place for her at the shelter. She is not yet spayed, but if we can get rescue arranged we can take her on to the vet for further treatment and spay. She has to be rescued to save her life. Please help if you can as our local resources are stretched to the max. Both our area shelters are brimming full. This rabbit is very adoptable but must have immediate rescue to save her life. She only has a few days at most left. She is pretty good with her litter box, loves to be petted, and is extremely gentle even when getting her meds. Contact Auntie Heather at director@therabbithaven.org or 831-239-7119 if you can rescue or help her.

Please give her your consideration. She deserves a chance! The Rabbit Haven will pay for the spay if you can rescue and The Haven will assist with transport.

AVA/The Rabbit Haven is a 501(c)3 non profit organization.

Do you know what her medical conditions are, or how they are treated? Are they life-long conditions, or something that needs treatment now but can be cured? I’m just curious, either way she deserves help. I’m very far away… I don’t know how far you can transport a rabbit… I don’t know why something about this little girl struck me, I just want to do anything I can to help.

I don’t know specifics about her condition other than she had “vaginal pustules” when she came to the shelter.  She was a hutch bunny, neglected, so she is not in the best of shape right now.  She is on some antibiotics now.  I think the condition is temporary and can be treated and cured if she is better cared for.  Even expressing an interest in her can help.  Call Heather at 831-239-7119 or email at director@therabbithaven.org, she can tell you more.

I emailed for Oreo, but I can’t get the FOWAS.org site to come up with her info. I’d like to make a donation, how else can I help?

Okay, scratch that, got the Paypal site to come up for FOWAS.org…but there is no way to earmark my donation for Oreo. Is it okay if I make her donation through Rabbit Haven instead?

EDIT: Okay, I SWEAR this will be the last time I edit this post! 0.o I went ahead and made a donation to Oreo at RAbbit Haven, but if I need to repeat it at FOWAS I will. Either way I just hope some kind person adopts this poor baby, she deserves a proper home! (If I were there, she’d already be settling down for cuddles with me!)

PalPay used to have a way of adding a note to a donation, but I can’t find it now.  I will tell the shelter advocate about your donation if you would like me to.

She is a lovely bunny and such beautiful markings … I hope she finds a nice home … pity I am so far away.

                      She seems very friendly too.

I have a small but hopeful update on Oreo.  Someone is San Francisco saw my Craig’s List posting and wants to adopt poor little Oreo!  Things are very chaotic here right now because of the fires, so I am not sure exactly when and how she will be pulled.  She may have to go into very short term foster care in order to get her spayed.  I will keep everyone updated!

Oh osprey, that is wonderful news! ^_^ I sure hope this works out for little Oreo. She is such a sweetie!
Did my donation go through for her? I sent it to the Rabbit Haven. (I know, it’s probably to crazy right now to check, but I want to make sure she gets that.)

She is still in foster care, awaiting her spay. As far as I know, she is adopted.

So glad to hear she’s got her family lined up. She had the sweetest look in her eyes and her video appeal brought me to tears.
Such a cutie! Good luck to her!
