so i just brought home my new rabbit and remembered that i had bought one of those devices that you plug into the wall to send out signals to the mice and rats in my house, it sends out signals to scare them away, i unpluged it right away of course

but is it safe to have that running while i have my bunny in the same room? would that harm her? does it even effect her?

I’ve wondered that same thing before, but I haven’t looked into it. I honestly wouldn’t take the chance anyway.

OK, one said “If you have rodent pets, they will be affected the same as unwanted rodent pests. It is recommended to keep mice, hamsters, gerbils, rabbits and other rodent pets in a separate area of the home that is closed off”

I thought I’d read a report that said those electronic mouse things weren’t effective anyway?

I tested them for work. They don’t work on anything. Some don’t even have a way to emit sound… they just cost $20 and use some of your power to run the blinking light.

Better off just throwing it away and using the money you’ll save in electricity on bunny treats.

LOL I’ve heard that they don’t work too!

If you are concerned about mice, there are ‘humane’ traps you can rent or buy, bait them and the mouse gets caught alive in the trap (so of course you want to check them often so they don’t starve/dehydrate in them) and then you can release somewhere far away from your house!

its such a shame people kill rats and things, i know they carry disease and sometimes it just has to be done, but i stil feel badly about hearing it especially because we are on their land, not the other way around, they would have been here first.
