Edson & the Christmas Tree! Help!

Hi everyone!  I have missed you all and have not been on this site in months as I have been so busy with work and my now 14 month old lab. By the way, Edson, the cat and the dog are best friends. Anyway, since the last time I posted Edson has become a new man.  As many of you know, he would not come out of his room.  Well about 8 months ago he got brave and ventured out and discovered the living room!  Here’s the reason for my post – we just put our Christmas tree up yesterday and that little devil has been munching away on the branches.  It’s so darn cute but I am concerned.  The tree has not been sprayed or anything and the lights and ornaments are higher than he can stand.  Didn’t have to worry about this last year as he was still content to stay in his room. Is this ok?

I’m glad to hear Edson has discovered the living room I looked around online, and the general response I saw was that it is OK for him to take a few nibbles if they are curious, but Edson really shouldn’t be “feasting” on it. To be safe, you could try to put the tree up on top of some kind of box or stand so that Edson couldn’t get to it. Maybe you could make a little platform of bricks or something festive to get it up out of his reach? Also, clean up around it frequently so he doesn’t have a lot of needles on the floor to tempt him! I know that untreated pine cones are often recommended for a fun bunny chew toy, and untreated pine wood is good for bunnies to chew on, but I just haven’t heard much about the pine needles.

I really missed you guys. I am not liking any dog that keeps you away from BB, no matter how much he influences Edson to come out of his shell. For all we know, he’s taking the car and influencing our dear Edson to stick up 7-11s while you’re asleep. Bad doggie.

Update:  OK I hope Rabbitpam doesn’t get mad I stole her picture of Edson!  It’s actually the only one that worked size wise!

Any time I clean out the litterbox I think of Edson & his peeing issue.  Is he still a heavy drinker?

I wish I could get a pic of one of my buns standing up…they suck!  I’m going to have start poking them now.  Come on get up you lazy behind rabbit…be cute for pictures

I agree w/ the bricks.  You don’t want him to access your tree water that is really bad for pets.  What kind of tree is it?  Wouldn’t that make a difference since some are more sappy than others?

I am honored and flattered to have you use any silly variation I came up with, from briefcase Edson, to Party Edson, to (have to get onto desktop to look up other photoshopped versions.)

Yes, Monkeybun, things got a lot better around here after you brought the poking sticks.

It was actually kind of confusing for new members, since this is a bunny website, but when K&K was around we just kept yelling “Duck!!!!”

Rabbitpam: I thought YOU came up with the caption! Skunklion: I can’t raise the tree but I have a tree skirt that is tight around the trunk so he cannot get to the water. Even if he did it’s just water – no preservatives in it.The tree is a noble fir. Edson has cut WAY down on his water consumption. Instead of 48 oz a day, he’s down to about 16oz. Maybe still too much for the normal bun but he’s so healthy I’m not a bit worried. I am convinced he was a psycho drinker before – probably did not get enough water in his life before me.

It sounds like something I would caption, but you had the great pose. I remember researching the hat, briefcase, bermuda shorts (there was a pix of Mimzy at that party too as I recall.)

Edson marches to the beat of his own drummer, and is a man’s bunny who drinks alot.

I can attest..there were other pictures…but due to copyright laws (and bunny disapproval) I am not allowed to repost them. (Pip was rather dismayed that we would catch her in her ‘party outfit’.) xD
Actually, they are somewhere on the massive dark matter space that is my hard drive, and I’ve no idea exactly where…so will have to search them.

JK, Mimzy is a huge drinker too…but only in the wee hours of the morning after the bars close. He goes at that water bottle of his like he’s just crossed the Sahara.

I know! (btw, I was interested about the excessive drinking of water…not the allusion to ‘heavy drinkers’ -hehe)  Thing is, I knew there was some link to Mimzy and a party too when I saw that pic of Edson in his shorts again. I don’t think I was even a member when that thread was posted. I must have just heard about it. Must have been quite a party!
