Well it all happened today, and I got to watch Ebony get spayed.

        All went well.

I took some pictures for you to see, if you hate blood turn your heads.

The last one is the small condo I built for her recuperating.

She has Tramadol to have at 4.30pm then 10.30pm and last at 4.30am; if she hasn’t eaten by lunch time tomorrow I am to get more pain killers.

They also gave me Revolution for her itchy ears, they couldn’t see any mites or fleas but her ears are inflamed so they said to do it anyhow.

I asked the vet when I can get the boy’s neutered and they said now, so I have booked them in for Saturday the 23rd of February at 9 am.

i’m sooooo glad it went well!  yay!  and wow, they let you watch?  thats amazing!  i would not be a good candidate to watching a surgery – i turn away from that stuff when i see it on tv.  interesting to see the wee thinga-ma-bobby they put over bunny nose/mouth.  i think i’ll make a small nic enclosure like that too for pinky… its a great idea lisa!

Yeh that is a great idea!! Congrats on her pulling through surgery (the anestetic is the scariest part for me). Actually, thanks for the pics-I’m usually squeamish but I had a nightmare just last night about Kokanee getting spayed and for some reason those pics make me feel better.
Keep us posted on her recovery!!

Oh how wonderful your bunny girl was ok through the ordeal.

Ebony will be fine …. now how relieved are you Lisa.  It wasn’t that bad after all.  The surgery is amazing … and it does not take long at all.  Glad you were able to watch … by the way how much did Elizabeth charge you and will you get a discount on the other bunnies’ ops?

                Dawn xx

All up was $191.40 but I did get two syringe filled Revolution, one for tonight and one in ten days time.

Surgery doesn’t worry me it’s just the thought of the pain the poor rabbit might go through.

She never mentioned a discount for all the boys, because of so many you would have thought she might have.

I would rather they go through her as she specialises in rabbits.

I asked the price of the Calicivirus virus vaccine and they charge $49 so I am going to take them up to George as I bet he will probably be half the price for that.

My bill also has all the prices of other treatments for rabbits, which is good to know.

Dawn, I was just wondering if you wanted to join me when all the boy’s get done? I don’t mind if you are busy.

They said it will take 15 minutes each boy, and there will be two vets there to do it.

She hasn’t eaten so I blended up vegies and pellets and syringed a bit in her mouth, I think the worry is obviously wanting her to start eating her hay, she is drinking so thats good.

Kokaneeandkahlua, I am glad it helped, not everyone knows what happens when your pet goes in to surgery sometimes pictures can be good to see, or even to know they go in and they do come back out with nothing to worry about.

Oh, that’s so cool that you got to watch the spay – I’m so jealous! Feel good vibes for Ebony too.

Thanks for posting pics. Is the second one the start of the incision? I can’t tell what it is exactly.

that’s neat you got to watch!  the pictures were good, she looks so helpless.  i hope she feels better soon.  not now during the recovery, but after is she still being caged with the girl?

The second pic is the end of surgery, she has been stiched up.

It’s nothing to worry about, it was all over in half an hour no complications or anything.

The main worry is just waiting for them it eat and poop.

Ebony has pooped and eaten veggies but I still haven’t seen her eating hay or her pellets.

                              Thanks for all the support.
