Easter thoughts – that time of year of impulse bunny buying

It’s Easter time again
Did every bunny hear ?
Or the big question is
Does every human care?

It’s not about the chocolate
Or wasting all your money
It’s not about material items
Anymore than about the bunny

It’s not time to get your children
A fluffy baby petstore pet
For he is going to live 10 years
Your children will forget

He will need company and food
Hay, litter , vacc and neuter
You can’t move him to the shed
Like last christmas’s scooter

I’m not saying he’s not worth it
He’ll be worth every dime
I’m saying make sure you are worthy
Have the money and the time

Hes not born to be a present
One moment or one smile
not meant to be a decoration
To only stay for a little awhile

He isn’t a fluffy teddy bear
He’s a life, soul and mind
He’s a special kind of family
Of the four legged kind

He will need you when he’s sick
And to nurse him when he’s old
He will need company everyday
And to be in not out in the cold

He will need you to care about his nails
Watch his teeth don’t overgrow

A rabbit can bring a lot to your life
He can be your best friend and more
But he shouldn’t be an impulse buy
Of the commitment you must be sure

If you can’t make a commitment
Then think twice is what I beg
If you really want to buy something
Get your children a Easter egg
