I’m treating my rabbit for an ear infection, he was tested for parasites and it came back negative, I’m treating him with enrofloxicin for 10 days, but it’s been a week and there’s been no change and then the vet prescribed a muscle relaxer his neck and it’s been 2 days with no change and I just want to know what I should be expecting this has been really hard on my and my family and I just want to know what to do at this point

EC tests often come back as negative unless your bun is in the top tiers of infection. I’d honestly ask to treat with a 28 day course of Panacur just to be on the safe side. Usually with antibiotics they start working within a few days and you see improvement. Is the muscle relaxer for head tilt? This is also a common sign of EC. EC drugs are different in that they take a bit of time to show improvement, so with them you do need to be patient.

If it is just an ear infection, those can be stubborn and can sometimes require several rounds of antibiotics. But, as mentioned by A&S, if it is due to EC (and tests often falsely come back negative, my vet doesn’t do the tests at all due to their unreliability), only Panacur will help. And yes, if there is a head tilt as well it’s very likely this is EC. Definitely would talk to the vet about starting a treatment. It can’t hurt to treat for EC, even if it turns out he doesn’t have it.

Hope you get your bunny back on track soon!

The muscle relaxers were given to see if it would help the head told and nothing has worked so far he just lays in the same position and doesn’t move I’m not sure what to do and I have one more dose of the antibiotics

I would start panacur and see if that helps as it seems that is the cause in this situation

Head tilt is more indicative of EC, so I would ask you vet to start on Panacur.
